Re: Whats Your Say On Reincarnation? by Akinbahm(m): 5:23pm On Aug 17, 2020
Nothing like rebirth of dead soul. Yoruba sayings when they want to reincarnate someone they says and I quote "ti aba pe oku ni popo alaye ni o ma da hun" if we call ghost a living being would appear sorry for my translation.

That quote enough proved that once the dead is gone he can never re appear.

I know you will be curious to ask those that appear since the dead can't show up again bro, its Jinn coming in the form of that dead being...

Life seeking life...another short at life to make things better...

Every soul has a mission on Earth and not all get to complete theirs in one life time,so they come back to complete it,reason why people are drawn towards some certain places and people....

Until you complete it,you are not coming home...this project ends when everyone is truely saved...

The irony.
Imagine! Coming from someone who believes there's a kingdom in the sky with a white bearded man in robes seated on a throne.
He even called it "human imagination". grin grin

Elijah reincarnated as John:

And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.

For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John.

And if ye will receive it, this is Elias, which was for to come.

Thanks. I was actually trying to remember where this passage is in the Bible so I can use it to reply Op and those saying its not real.

We have some in my family who were born with an injury mark of the person who reincarnated them. So its real.

I think reincarnation has to do the spirit of the dead or someone not living among the humans, coming back to the earth via another body.

We talk about the spirit of the prophets, so it appears that it was the spirit of Elijah that God made to come back as John the baptist, hence the glaring similarities between the two, the river Jordan, the dressing style, the wilderness, fasting and not eating much, reprimanding wicked leaders and calling the people to repentance etc.

Perhaps the only difference was the lack of miracles which Elijah did which may have been because Elijah didn't come back with his mantle.

As touching the power of God: no one can question Him. He can do all things even beyond our imaginations. Yet He is a God of Principles.

concerning reincarnation, the Bible never really talked about it, just that we all know that John the Baptist was Elijah; even though Elijah never really died in the old testament,
Why did John have to come as a child?
in other words, why did Elijah come back as a child?

Exactly. but...don't know about the mantle though:
if I would be sincere, I think it takes the power of God and faith for miracles; the two were never far from him, even though he had some doubt while in prison.
until now I believe that he came to magnify Christ Jesus, to make Him known, then diminish as Christ increases.

True, it takes the power of God and faith for miracles, however in the days of the prophets, they required a material of some sort upon which the power of God rested to be able to do certain extent of miracles. The three people who were associated with such extent of miracles in those days were Moses, Elijah, and Elijah, and everyone of them had a material as such, as Moses had a rod, Elijah had a mantle, and it was the mantle of Elijah that fell on Elisha upon his departure, that Elisha took and also used to that effect.

John the Baptist also belonged to that era of the prophets where they needed such to be able to perform those kinds of miracles, but Jesus didn't need any such thing for that purpose because the fullness of the Spirit of God rested upon His body, hence He was able to do similar extent of miracles without such.

But perhaps he wasn't given such because he was meant to magnify Jesus and to decrease so that Jesus would increase as you pointed out.

well explained. thanks.
Please, always go back and re-read what you hear so you are certain you know the real story.
7 There were 50 men from the group of prophets who followed them. Elijah and Elisha stopped at the Jordan River. The 50 men stood far away from Elijah and Elisha.
8 Elijah took off his coat, folded it, and hit the water with it. The water separated to the right and to the left. Then Elijah and Elisha crossed the river on dry ground.
9 After they crossed the river, Elijah said to Elisha, “What do you want me to do for you before God takes me away from you?” Elisha said, “I ask you for a double share of your spirit on me.”
10 Elijah said, “You have asked a hard thing. If you see me when I am taken from you, it will happen. But if you don’t see me when I am taken from you, it will not happen.” -
11 Elijah and Elisha were walking and talking together. Suddenly, some horses and a chariot came and separated Elijah from Elisha. The horses and the chariot were like fire. Then Elijah was carried up into heaven in a whirlwind.
12 Elisha saw it, and shouted, “My father! My father! The chariot of Israel and his horses!” Elisha never saw Elijah again. Elisha grabbed his own clothes and tore them in two to show his sadness.
13 Elijah’s coat had fallen to the ground, so Elisha picked it up. He went back and stood at the edge of the Jordan River.
14 He hit the water and said, “Where is the Lord, the God of Elijah?” Just as Elisha hit the water, the water separated to the right and to the left! Then Elisha crossed the river.
15 When the group of prophets at Jericho saw Elisha, they said, “Elijah’s spirit is now on Elisha!” They came to meet Elisha. They bowed very low to the ground before him.- 2 Kings 2 vs 7 - 15
From the above passage, the story explains that much of what you were fed by your mogs is nothing but delusions. undecided

A. When Elijah first took off his coat, he used his own hand to hit the water with it. In much the same way Moses struck the water with his staff to part waters, it was not the staff or the coat that had the power in it, but the Prophet whose hand it was in.
B. Elijah did not throw his coat on Elisha. Instead, it dropped to the floor after he was carried away.
C. Elisha noticed Elijah had dropped the coat and so picked it up. There is no mention of him wearing it or even intending to.
D. By the way, there is no indication from the story that the coat was imbued with even Elijah's power. From the story, it was just a coat.
E. There is also no indication that on the way back, Elisha hit the water with the same coat instead we are told that Elisha called out to, YHWH, God of Elijah, and God answered him.
