It has been happening for long. I served in Abia 12C it is a common trend in Abia State, Students leave schools who don't engage in such practices to another school during WAEC to write exams in schools that practice examination malpractice. I wasn't surprised when Abia State top the performance chat in WAEC.

If only Nigeria can go back to regionalism where there will be healthy competition between regions for real growth as it was before.

Nigeria can't continue like this...

This only confirms suspicion that their chest beating figures are largely exaggerated through exam malpractice and certificate forgery.
You get to see this, first hand, at job interviews and in employment where many of them perform below their paper qualification - and leaves you wondering how they managed to have passed their exams.

What was worrying in the past was to see students trying to cheat by themselves, which means the serious students can do their thing and pass without cheating and its complications. Also, WAEC had a way of identifying the cheaters, holding and cancelling their results.

To have school managements make this kind of arrangements is heartbreaking. What are they training the students to become, and how will those students view their teachers and schools?

Also it cannot be all the schools in Imo that are involved as it all depends on the type of principal and management that each school has. Except we are saying that the entire state and most of its people are morally bankrupt, which again is highly improbable...

And to those trying so hard to deflect the problem by insinuating that every state and school in Nigeria does this, kindly note that it is a very shameful and retrogressive path to go down.

Every society must learn to fact-check, face and resolve reported issues so that subsequent reports become favorable for societal development and probity.

LegendHero:
This is why I always laugh when people use show WAEC ranking as a metrics of intelligence.

WAEC has been an exam where gross cheating always happen right from time, it didn’t start today.

WAEC need to change their model to something like that of Jamb which will be based on CBT.

Although people still cheat in UTME too, but at least the cheating is reduced and not as bad as those of WAEC.

Nigeria is spoilt right from top to bottom. The parents themselves are the people that take their kids to special centers and the corruption is systematically instilled in students right from secondary school.

So this is the secret behind Imo State recording exceptional results every year in WAEC and JAMB exams.

It was all due to CHEATING!!!

All aspects of the Nigerian state are essentially corrupted and becoming increasingly materialistic. One reason is the collapse of the value system, which has led to the preponderance of the culture of materialism over morals, resetting the society to a toxic Machiavellian state.

No wonder, all things, including education, politics and religion, are seen as means to the good life (materialism) and when the good life isn't coming, you hear despicable clauses like "school na scam" or the "chop your own national cake" and "everybody na thief" mantras in politics and religion.

We need a revolution, not just a political one, but in most aspects of our societal architecture.

I weeps for the country.

Time for its dissolution.

Imagine other parents paying for their children to cheat and you refused to pay. Who are you doing by standing for what's right? The answer is your child.

This is so bad in many levels....

Only IMO state did this, if other States did it would have been reported, that's how they start in secondary school, by the time they get to nekede they start selling their bodies because they re broke.

By the time they finish nysc, they start kidnapping and doing rituals because they can't use their worthless certificates and their corrupt brains.

Very correct, recently conducted an interview for pump attendants in a filling station one of the applicants from IMO state had a masters, she couldn't even express herself, spelling on her CV was full of errors wonder why she went through all that trouble just to become a pump attendant, she obviously could not read because the maximum qualification for the job advert was an OND.

Imo state is a cursed shithole state. The worst anyone can do in this life is to raise your kids in a jungle like Owerri, your daughters will become prostitutes and your sons shall become armed robbers. Imo state is the worst place on earth to live or raise family. Evilforest

This is a 'Hate Speech'

'Imo Schools'? Or one school in Imo like many others elsewhere?

This is an attempt to undermine the sagacity of Imo students.

An unqualified generalization.

Strictly a hate speech and unacceptable.

It's like Nigeria has gone beyond redemption. Even some of us who still have little hope are beginning to accept the reality. There's corruption everywhere, little boys, as young as 14 are now controlling millions of naira through internet scam. You see them buying land and stuff.

Who will help Nigeria? When will Nigeria be able to stand respected as a country amongst other countries? When will Nigeria have leaders who care about the country more than their pockets? When!! oh when?

When things like this can be punished by jail terms.
Where students are taught therefore will have no need to cheat.
Where teachers are well trained and well paid.

Believe me when in say it..you will do worst if you become Nigeria's president. You will, put your family into all the juicy positions and your friends..before u'll start thinking of Nigeria's problems..

It's not easy to be a good person..!
