Don't worry the appeal and supreme court will rule on the eligibility
supreme court have already ruled that inec has no power to disqualify a Candidate without a court order.
APC, PDP , ANDP should all go and prepare for fresh Election.

Don't worry about INEC power. You will ponder whether the candidate was even qualified at all.

The APC are already out but you can continue to dream just the same way You boasted that INEC wouldn't appeal

andp eligibility, that is another case entirely and the time to challenge it has passed.

What court rule on yesterday is who have power to disqualify can't , unfortunately inec doesn't have such constitutional power.

Inec should stop playing to the Gallery.

The court is clear on the ruling, inec have no constitutional power to remove a candidate or political party whether they re ineligible or not.

The power lies in the hand of competent court of jurisdiction to do so.
So all the ones INEC have been removing all over the place,na who dey remove them?

it seems you are missing the point, if INEC has no right as an election umpire what is the essence of verification by INEC, I know you are crassly ignorant about this point raised.

Does election tribunal has the power to hear pre-election matter?

“It is pertinent to note that the party did not exercise its right guaranteed in the Fourth Alteration to the constitution by filing its suit within 14 days of the accrual of the said right as the issues canvassed are pre-election issues,”

You mean to tell us that INEC rules should be enforced by the Court?

Why don't you use your line of thought to empirically connect schools, civil service, financial sectors to this argument. Procedures are guidelines. To be a candidate, you must first qualify. Without qualification, the party got no right to dictate to the electoral body on how to apply the rules to the contrary as express by the tribunal minority opinion

Apt.

Nice submission

supreme court in landmark judgment in 2007 has already ruled that the power to disqualify a party/ candidate lies with the court.

Inec duty is to conduct and supervise election process.

my point exactly, why have institutions and rules when they have no power to act.. If that is the case the court should start doing the work of inec instead, qualifying and disqualify candidates even when they ignore laws set by inec.

This one is another chaos coming

Assuming without conceding that he was ineligible, the Supreme Court have said that INEC does not have the power to disqualify a candidate, without a court order - Action Congress and Anor v INEC (SC 69/2007). seeing that an ineligible candidate was presented, what INEC should have done was go to court and get an order to exclude ANDP from the ballot for fielding an ineligible candidate. Excluding them without the go ahead of a Court was ultra vires the powers of INEC, and now tax payers money will be wasted on another election. Someone should be held accountable.
