Ibegtodiffer:
1. The FG promotes local content. It shouldn't have any reason to reject UTAS since it's the brainchild of the Nigerian Universities.

2. The average Nigerian student has suffered enough, let FG & ASUU sort out their differences, once and for all. Whatever they agree, let the Senate president and Speaker of house of reps be additional signitories so that we can know who to hold responsible in future. We are tired of ASUU blaming FG, & FG blaming ASUU.

3. The children of the Big men (PDP & APC) are preparing to travel out of the country to resume. The private Universities will also resume immediately. Pls let FG & ASUU help the average Nigerian student return to school.

4. The level of increasing criminality, prostitution, gambling, violence perpetuated by idle youths owing to this strike is alarming. FG & ASUU, I knee down dey beg una, help students to go back to school.

5. Over sabi na him make okada wan overtake trailer. Make ASUU cool down small.

6. Do you know who I am, do you know who I am, na him dey cause traffic. Make FG sef cool down.

7. Wetin concern dog and family planning? Una wey no want resume school, make una no put mouth for this matter.

8. Monkey smart, Monkey smart, na because Tree near Tree. Students must collectively put pressure on government and ASUU without insulting them. School must resume abeg.

9. Barcelona, Mancity, Juventus and Maguire of PenManU,..I no go pray bad prayer for una. But una no try...
Excellent post

Even SSANU & NASU that enrolled on IPPIS has a bad experience with it. They are waiting for schools' resumption to begin their own strike.
a very bad experience so far with the ippis. our salaries have been so reduced, deductions increased its as if I'm just working yo earn paper these days, the value of naira has so lost its value in the last few weeks, ippis simply can't capture the peculiarities of educational institutions.

Salaries reduced because you have been underpaying your tax and didn't even pay nhf earlier. If you want better salary negotiate with salary and wages commission

In other words, if FG doesn't agree to this
1. Strike still continues.
2. Going for UTME screening is 50-50.
3. Next year tinz for some of us.

Nothing spoil... Man got to survive long enough to leave this country for good.

the online thing may be a good idea but may not work in most universities, how much are you prepared to send on data for a week of online lectures? not every one has access to good network coverage in the location where they stay, then the network or server overload too will be an issue, maybe in the next couple of years it might happen but nit for now.

Too bad.

I was on FG's side initially, until I saw what some SSANU & NASU members were going through with this IPPIS.

FG was quick to yield to the demands of PENGASSAN, PPPRA & other oil sector groups regarding the IPPIS, but they ignored that of the Education Sector.

IPPIS doesn't capture lecturers peculiarities , that's the reason. If IPPIS can include University conditions of service,no problem. FG deceived other Unions to join, now they are regretting.

The country revolves around monetary idolatry, greed, covetousness, and selfishness.. Reason, it is in turnmoil beyond recovery.

-Since Kemi Adeosun was ousted by cabals and replaced with a Northerner, things went sour.. She is greatly missed.

Utas or uranus, they still won't escape all the taxes they've been dodging since 1960 cheesy cheesy
The "change" they've been receiving from ippis so far after all deductions is their new reality.

The next agitation strike will be for increase in salaries grin grin
...and the drama continues cool

What's tha business?

Do you know that lecturers are entitled to excess workload allowances, etc.? IPPIS didn't capture all these entitlement. Lecturers are not fools!

its not the issue of taxes and nhf, but irregularities in the payments, how do you explain inconsistency in my monthly payments, i don't even know how much i earn these days, my copp deductions are not remitted, the coop society is suffering and may soon collapse, my pencom ia not being remitted, and so many other problems.
when we joined last year we were promised that everything will normalize after 3 months, its not going to 9 months and nothing has changed.
every month ending you will be praying that your salary will be paid as some won't even get paid for that month.

ASUU use their Union resources and knowledge to develop UTAS. Blame FG for not funding universities properly to cater for online teaching and learning. I love online teaching but the resources are not there.

Ok valid point. Irregularities in salary should be addressed asap. However if it's talk about increase in taxes and non payment of allowances, it is not the duty of ippis but salary and wages commission to come up with a template of paying any mda. The Earned and hazard allowances issue should be taken to nswic and not ippis

I stand with the government on this.
Not one single research organisation/agency on IPPIS has been able to accept (for over 10years now)
1. Visiting Scientists
2. Sabbatical Staff

IPPIS did not provide for such things. Sometimes a research organisation need to invite capable scientists from all over to share research techniques.

The FG had told ASUU to enrol on IPPIS pending the readying of UTAS. ASUU said it needed 2years. FG no agree. Only for bad sharp ASUU to present it within 6months of that discussion...Lol
If FG refuse to accept it, then Nigerian students and parents would know that FG is the problem. Let's not forget that Airports have been opened so that the children of the elites can travel back, as schools resume in September.
The whole izh is just sad... I'm hoping it gets approved.
Although the system put forth by ASUU might have flaws given the timeframe it was released or it was already done but they shelved it for God knows what ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.
