When you try to accommodate the Ugbo and make peace, you have to be careful. Otherwise, they will twist your action.

They claimed they own Ijebu Igbo!

Bode George almost lost his position in his party when he pleaded that Igbo must be allowed to represent Amuwo Odofin area of Lagos despite the fact that they do not have the votes. They then cooked up stats to show they won it on merit and votes; until they lost everything.

They called OBJ the most detrabilized Nigerian when he replace Yoruba with Igbo so that they could hold major positions after the war. Today they call him all kinds of names.

Igbo claimed they were the Yoruba in Ife that Moremi exposed until the Oba of Igbo nearby corrected them.

Immediately Ooni of Ife gave them accommodation in Ife, many of the groups rejected it that they are not from Ife. Today they are using Ooni as the authority for their bogus claim.

Their obsession with Yoruba is unlimited. You cannot blame them, so is the rest of the world that claim to be Yoruba decendants. You are all welcomed but do not twist your accommodation.

BTW, we all know Igbo have no Kings or captains of the ships. They exist in clans and tribes.

The only time they have OBI is from Yoruba descendants. Even when they claim OBI has a meaning in their language, it is totally unrelated to Person or Captain in a ship.

Pity, they have turned into broken record, repeating the same auto answer. No intellect.

I’m glad the internet will never ever forget how (at least) two Igbo representative were flogged into oblivion by one Yoruba lady. She turned one into a village clown and caused the other one to believe his own lies. grin cheesy

You have been crying non stop for two days now. What happened? I know you didn't expect how everything turned out. How it became glaring to you that your "cradle of civilization " was once controlled by Igbos led by Obatala until your fathers left Kogi area. That your Oduduwa didn't break his back as he flew down from heaven afterall without parachutes grin

That almost all your festivals have lasting vestiges of Igbo themes. That you turned an Igbo man into a god that you worshipped till today. grin .

That your Aje festival is a regret gathering as Yorubas rue their rejection of peace, progress, equality, justice and freedom represented by Igbos through Obatala. Instead followed wars, wars and more wars which Oduduwa monarchy brought to Yorubas.

grin grin

Finally, the killer. There is no iota of Yoruba tradition anywhere in Igboland. We don't even know who your gods were. While Igbo themes abound everywhere in Ife including your ooni palaces, nothing of such exist in igbo land. Does this tell you something?

Yes, I understand that the comment was too dense conceptually and grammatically for any Nri/Aro villager to wrap their mind around what it says.

I get it, but that’s still not a genuine excuse for your repeated embarrassing moments right now. No, I won’t accept your wooden-headedness as an excuse at all. grin

At the very least, you should have thought of copying and pasting that comment into Nri-Igbo Google translate so you can access its content first hand.

Do that now and revert back here for a conversation, bush-meat. grin cheesy

But it is what it is — that is, your brother got flogged into oblivion to the extent that he had to call on 3 Igbo mods for help.

Since then he has being reduced into a fleeing village clown . cheesy You’re obviously the next in line to follow him. grin cheesy

(2) What exactly are you getting at by trying hard to earn the curse of the Eze Nri via twisting the pronouncement of his ancestral father — the Ooni of Ife??

The Ooni made it clear that: The Igbos are descended from the Yoruba people of Ife. cheesy

I guess the Igbos were kicked out by the Yorubas because the Igbos refused to wear clothes and develop along with the emerging clothing civilization. grin cheesy

You all should be grateful to Dada Nwakwata (mid-1800s) for being revolutionary enough to challenge the Igbo race into making their own clothes many, many centuries after their expulsion from Ife. grin cheesy

You would have jejely accepted the 14th century date I gave you instead you made me give you the Igbo ukwu historical slap. Now in order to sound smart you buried your argument yet again.

Igbo existed even before Yorubas at least according to your ooni and several Yoruba historians. How can you cloth someone that existed before you?

As with everything else we have seen with Ibo when history and truthful acclaim is concerned you come short and deceptive. I seriously question Igbo ukwu being a creation of Igbo ethnic group. Just because it has igbo appended and is found in ukwu, or wherever it was dug up, does not mean it was created by Igbo.

Here are lists of history you claimed ownership of, and some of these things even made it to official and national acceptance. One of them was entered into National museum records and stayed for decades. Recent technology and capacity for global networking and knowledge exposed it to be false. If it had not been for internet National Museum will still have in its record till today that the Rolls Royca rode by Queen Elizabeth in her 1956vvisit to Nigeria was a property of Sir Louis Ojukwu and he loaned it out with his driver to chauffeur the Queen around.

Ojukwu father was first millionaire in Nigeria. False.

Fact - Candido da Rocha, son of an Ijesha returnee was first millionaire.

Sir Ojukwu was first President of Nigerian Stock Exchange. False.

Fact - Sir Mobolaji Bank-Anthony was first President of Lagos Stock Exchange, which was founded by Yoruba, and changed to Nigerian Stock Exchange when Federal Govt took it over.

Sir Ojukwu loaned his Rolls Royce, with his driver, to the Governor General to drive the Queen around in when she visits on her tour of the country. False.
This lie entered museum records unfortunately.

Fact - The Rolls Royce in Kano Emirate Palace was the one used throughout Queen's visit. It was driven by the Governor General's driver, a whiteman.

Nnamdi Azikiwe was the founder of NCNC. False.

Fact - NCNC was created and founded by Herbert Macauley. Azikiwe joined after its creation.

Bank accounts of Ibos vacating Nigeria during civil war was seized leading to huge monetary loss. On return after war each was given a token £20 in compensation for millions of pounds in savings before war. False.

Fact - Long before the war Zik had used ethnic persuasion to call on all Ibos to move their money to ACB. ACB was sold to Zik by a group of Yoruba bankers. ACB was popularly known as Ibo bank because all Ibos bank there. So at beginning of war Ibos money were kept in ACB, Zik's bank. Nigeria changed its currency twice. First when Ojukwu looted CBN in Benin. Second, shortly before Biafra surrendered. Biafran pound was so worthless in the money market that nobody would accept it for any purchase, not even for a stick of cigarette. The Ibo returnees discovered their holdings in ACB was depleted in fighting the war and whatever was left had zero value because it was an illegal tender in Nigeria and a worthless currency in Forex market. Nigeria came out with the 20pound policy to rescue and save Ibos. The 20pound was the seed money that got them started on their feet. Instead of owning up that ACB had wasted their bank savings on war, Zik lied that their savings in banks in Nigeria had been confiscated.

It may not be today, but a expose will soon reveal that Igbo Ukwu belonged to a different and non-Igbo society. At that point the Igbo Ukwu scam will be revealed.

When a society is evolved sufficiently to produce a intricate piece of art, other aspects of its value system will also exhibit similar grandeur consistent with the civilization.

In Ife this consistency is found in artworks, in state rulership, in dynastic structures, in belief system and oral history and as well in worship of divinities. Different articles of social evolution contain a structure with purposeful beginning and development.

In Igbo, the igbo ukwu is a isolation and a exception. Nothing else in the society exhibits grandeur or a patterned evolution. Not then, not now!

I doubt Igbo Ukwu truly belongs to Igbo stock.

Abstract

Dedicated to Eze Nri, Attah of Obosi, Asagba of Asaba and Olu of Warri Igala may not be related to everyone in southeast Nigeria, especially those of Aro and/or Jewish origin but Igala is related to Nri people considering some related cultures between us. Although, some South-easterners believe that Eri/Eli was the father of all Igbo people, while some disagree with that. But Eri, as a person, how was he related to Igala if actually he was? According to some Igbo historians, Atta, one of the sons of Eri was the founder of Igala people. But Igala was not founded by one person as it is popular that Igala settled in Wukari-Taraba state after coming from Egypt through Borno … and later migrated from Wukari to Idah. In addition, Attah is a tittle in Igala land not a person as they said, and it means father. So, Attah Igala means Father of Igala. Thus, this version does not have any truth. Another version said that Eri migrated from Igala area to Aguleri and later married an Igala wife who begot a son called Onoja Oboli, and that the Onoja later founded Igala. This is so cyclic and very contradictory. If Eri migrated from Igala which was already in existence before even marrying his wife or getting a son, how come the same Igala will be founded by Onoja? This also does not hold water. The third version said that Eri came from heaven with his wife and settled near Omabala river. He later got a child called Idah who founded Igala. Again, this is very strange to many popular world historians as Idah was just a location and not the name of person. Idah was from Ona Imuda, meaning the road has ended because the road or path they were following during their (Igala people) migration ended at the bank of river Niger and they Igala people had to settle down there. Till date, no man or ruler or Attah Igala among the royal clan had/has Idah as his name. This makes this version also false. There is another version which is still different. These inconsistence versions by Igbo historians could not provide provable facts. However, all of them point to one direction, and that is; Eri or Igbo was the father of Igala people. But considering some similar cultures between Eri people and Igala, and which are not common btw Eri and other Igbo towns, some historians believed that Eri was Igala who left Idah

Awesome!

This again corroborates my earlier comment about our well-known Yoruba traditional account which states that the first home for all (from where dispersion took place for the different ethno-linguistic groups) was in a Yoruba center called Ife-Ooyelgbo situated further in the interior close to a very large body of water.

Today, this ancient Yoruba traditional account has been corroborated by both linguistics, archaeology, and ethnography — as I have shown HERE.

In other words, some region around the Niger-Benue confluence (and further up the Middle-Niger) is the point of dispersal of all these people (i.e. the different Yoruba subgroups, the different Edo subgroups, the different Igbo subgroups, et al.) as distinct ethno-linguistic groups and subgroups.

Ile-Ife, once settled after this dispersal, thus emerged as the first super power and first group/sub-group to attain civilization and fluorescence in the Guinea forest.

Kingdom-founding migrations (aka monarchy-establishing groups) thus began to roll-out from Ile-Ife to these other groups/subgroups (including the Edos and the Igbos) as well as the different Yoruba sub-groups of the region.

It is to this kingdom-founding migrations from Ile-Ife that many sub-groups in today’s southern Nigeria (as well as many people further-up) refer when they adduce their respective traditional accounts to claim Ile-Ife as the origin of their respective kingdoms.

To quote the words of Robin Horton in his “Ancient Ife”:

“Phase 1. (500 B.C. - 900 A.D.) — From a nucleus somewhere in the area of the Niger-Benue Confluence, proto-Yoruba speakers fanned out into the lands to the west and south-west. Among the migrants were the ancestors of the people of Ife. ••• .

Phase 2. (900 A.D. - 1450 A.D.) — Ife emerged as a power in the region after the main wave of Yoruba expansion and cultural differentiation. ••• The result was a large and prosperous population, a powerful army, and a magnificent material culture. Once the city had become a power in the region, its rulers embarked on the subjugation of commercially important outlying areas, sending royal princes to take charge of their administration.

Phase 3. (1450 A.D. - 1650 A.D.) — Two outlying provincial centers, Benin and Oyo, developed new trade routes linking seaboard, forest and savannah. ••• These commercial and military development tipped the balance wealth and power away from Ife and toward Benin and Oyo. Both of them later became independent of Ife. •••”

I doubt Igbo Ukwu truly belongs to Igbo stock.
No judging from the name of the town "igbo-ukwu" it surely belongs to the Yoruba stock grin grin

I know you were too dull to notice Those artefacts where named after the town in which they were found Igbo ukwu which translates to "The Grand or Big Igbos"

In the words of Hartle who said that
“Archaeology indicates that the Igbo were in occupation of parts of south-eastern
Nigeria by 2000 – 3000 BC.”

Afigbo affirms that “the antiquity of the Igbo …on
logistic evidence probably goes back to five or six thousand years.

BabaRamota, could I use your last post for future discussion?

This is what we failed to do and they got away with fabrications to pump up their ego.

Hell or Weything You Call Yourself,

You people mumu no be small. So OBA means farm abi na barn or store.

So you crowned barm or store as Oba! You better put your broken record on again. You are not making sense to yourself.

Exactly, The wealthiest of Igbo men were called "Oba"(yam barn) in Igbo language to signify their wealth which was measured in farm produce grin

Yoruba met some igbos led by Obatala in Ife and adapted the title but turned their own Oba to mean "king" grin

When I get time to dedicate we are going to dig and find who this Igbo Ukuwu truly belong to. I believe the artifacts belong to another society. Igbo attached to it and since no one came up to dispute their claim it became mainstream. Much of what we know of Igbo arts and history is a stack of claims that just no one disputed, and not truly that it belonged to Igbo.
