Good afternoon. I'm submitting an application for my parents to visit me in the UK (they have visited 3 times prior to now). I will be financially responsible for the trip (flights, accommodation, feeding, application fees). Do they still need to provide bank statements? Dad is self employed and Mum is retired. I intend to upload the documents required online, do they still need to take physical copies? |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Brightingsus: 2:33pm On Aug 19, 2020 |
asorts: It depends on how the ECO interprets the visa application, especially in deciding whether your parents are genuine visitors (meaning visitors that would leave at the end of their visit). Having a travel history to the UK would work in their favour. Have you ever invited them without including their bank statements with the visa approved? I know one who invited his mother in-law (who has never worked - a housewife) and had the visit approved but her bank statement was included. The idea of including bank statements when they are not contributing towards the cost of the trip is mostly as a tie to Nigeria. If you have sent them money within the 6 months it would show in their account statement and can also be seen as your relationship and commitment with them. |

Tuoma: I have a closing balance of 3,761,565.08 Naira Pls, how much can i input as my budget for trip ? Because this people hmmm, if the money for trip budget is too much or small they will compromise. I put 1,750 GBP is this too much or small, as my host is only providing me with accommodation and feeding, and not round ticket flight for 3 weeks holiday’s. Thanks so much for answering my other questions, in fact the invitation letter is now corrected and medical insurance is remove, i really appreciate ur efforts and time and everyone else who answers me here |

Thanks. I am preparing my application myself, on my home-ties i have land and car documents. I will be submitting my mother passport data page plus my work employment letter, leave letter and introduction letter to show enough home-ties. Can i submit my mother car documents, am judging myself not to submit her car paperwork since am not the owner of the car, any suggestions pls ? |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by iyatrustee(f): 4:21pm On Aug 19, 2020 |
Roneld77: Does having a Car in Nig serve as tie back home? Is there a particular reason you are including your mother's data page? I dont see what purpose adding her car papers will do for you. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by giselle237: 4:25pm On Aug 19, 2020 |
iyatrustee:Her passport data page serves as part of his home ties.... that his mother will be present in Nigeria during the time of his travel and so he will be returning as he can not abandon his ‘elderly’ mom to go and live in the uk... and so forth with the lyrics. And yes to his own car documents. There would be no need for his mother’s |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by giselle237: 4:31pm On Aug 19, 2020 |
Roneld77:U can’t guess what to write as over or under budgeting can work against you. You should use ur salary and then subtract ur monthly expenses to have a figure.. they do not care if you have 100 million dollars as your account balance, ur budget must be tallying with at most twice your income after removing expenses |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Nobody: 4:36pm On Aug 19, 2020 |
iyatrustee: I am just trying to show enough ties back home. So i think submitting of her passport data page will show more ties that i have family member in Nigeria ect |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Skymoore1004: 4:40pm On Aug 19, 2020 |
Please passport data page DOES NOT signify home ties in ANYWAY. giselle237: Roneld77: |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Nobody: 4:47pm On Aug 19, 2020 |
giselle237: If you read my previous texts about my trip budget @tuoma says i should make it up to 2000 GBP for my trip budgets as i make it 1,750 GBP before. And if i multiple my monthly salary of 320,000k twice as u day that will be estimates of 640,801.04 Naira |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by iyatrustee(f): 4:49pm On Aug 19, 2020 |
Skymoore1004: My thoughts too! How will they determine she's abroad or based in Nig with her passport data page? |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Sonarirok(f): 4:51pm On Aug 19, 2020 |
No car docs or mother’s data page pls!!! Roneld77: |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Nobody: 4:52pm On Aug 19, 2020 |
giselle237: Here is the calculations Salary after tax: 630.65 GBP= 320,400.52 Monthly expenses: 180 GBP= 91,434.09 Budgets for trip: 2000 GBP= 1,016,601.01 - (3,761,565.08 bank closing balance) = 2,744,964.07 Naira |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by iyatrustee(f): 5:05pm On Aug 19, 2020 |
Roneld77: Your disposable income is 320,400.52 -91,434.09 which falls to about N230k monthly. Budgeting a million is 4times your disposable income. If i were in your shoes, so long Accomodation and feeding is to be provided by your host, i will budget between 600k to 700k. |

Skymoore1004:I only write what I have done in all my applications and all applications of my family members, if it does not tally with you, sorry my bad. I never claimed to be UKVI. Neither has anyone on this thread claimed to be. Once again, I have used passport data pages of my family members plus their work ids and supporting letters to show that they would be in Nigeria for all periods of my travels... and trust me I have applied successfully several times. 3 Likes |

Roneld77:Stick to keeping your budget at 450k is what I would do. That would be 2 times your disposable income of 230k pls. Most times this has worked. 1 Like |
