Most books are not that accessible, some require payments...

Since u had access to it, screenshot it and post it here for all to see...

Anybody can still make up references to books that cannot be easily accessed by others

Period
And because of your personal incompetence and poverty, we must then rely on a probably fraudulent screenshot.

What about you search for other accessible scholarly academic works that cites the same reference you’re trying to access?? grin

E.g. the account of Oba Eweka2 to H.L. Ward-Price (where he admit Ooni as his great lord) is cited by A.F.C. Ryder (1965) and many other scholars.

Anyways, please bear in mind that your incompetence and poverty is not necessarily my problem. Do you agree?? cheesy

And I never insulted....I cant stoop so low to do such...its an insult to me myself

Besides u said I shouldn't judge ur article by one page...why haven't u post the rest
Give me a framework for distingusihung which screenshot is genuine and which one is made up.

If you give me such framework, then I will post the screenshot for the following immediately:

“Oba Eweka(2), for example, informed H. L. Ward-Price that every morning at dawn, he must offer ritual supplications (while facing the rising sun) to his “Oghene” who lives in “Ife”. — see: H.L. Ward-Price, “Dark Subjects” (London, 1939), p.238.”

Moreover, that work I posted is not an article. It is rather a book of several pages that can be accessed digitally for free online by almost any illiterate.

Moreover, I thought you just said you don’t insult. Lol. grin It’s getting painful.

Anyone not capable of paying subscription for access to records should really not be engaged at this depth of discussion into written history of Ife and Benin.

Co-signed 100%!

Screenshots to me dont really prove much. Many screenshots can be made up to save-face. Give me references to the material instead and let me read up by myself. That’s me.

And for some people that aren’t afraid of clicking strange links on a faceless forum like this, links may suffice them if the material is available digitally online.

How dare him even blame his poverty/incompetence on me?? shocked

I pity your neighbors that do not know their history, you are exploiting their lack of knowledge. Yoruba will expose you to them.

Listen to what Basden said about Nri.

"Nri was a small town".
Headquarters of a priestly cult and the priests travelled around coronating kings in Igbo country.

cheesy cheesy

Nri is not the cult. Nri is not a progenitor. Nri is not a king. Nri is just a small town. Inside the Nri town lived priests - mburuichi - who traveled around igno country coronating kings.

This priesthood itself is not Igbo origin. It came from a foreignland.

Basden went on to say, in Onitsha, when asked where they came from they pointed to the East.

Where is the East of Onitsha they pointed to?

Small small Basden go expose una. I go wake am up to talk about his stay among the primitive Ibo.

Yes, this sculpture (just like the one at my DP) is from Ita-Yemoo in Ile-Ife.

I think he has learnt that lesson. He just didn’t apologize for obvious reasons.
It was a mistake. I actually found it in a page where I was searching for Igbo Ukwu’s bronze work. It was TAO who drew my attention to it and when I looked closely, I realized it was really an Ife artwork. So apologies. But una come dey use one mistake settles scores. Na wa o.

Another discovery that people tend to miss. Take a look at the Ife head and that of the Igbo Ukwu head bronze you'll find similar face markings. How did the Ife bronze head come to have the same facial scarification as Igbo Ukwu?

Hmmm! What a discovery!? shocked shocked

You’re simply advertising your naiveness.

See the following just so you don’t mistake my ignoring you to mean the same thing as you making some dIsCoVeRy: grin ;

Many people in today’s North-Eastern Nigeria still rock this kinds of facial scarification — and it’s actually full-face and closer to the Ife-type than to the Igbo-Ukwu type.

So, your guess is as good as mine as to why all these diverse people of “Nigeria” tend to do the same things.

In other words, these three peoples are from different parts of the world, right? grin One from China, another from Australia, another from the Americas. grin cheesy cheesy cheesy grin /s

The advertisement of ignorance going on here is amazing. grin

“Igbo” means “bush”/“forest” in Yoruba language. I guess your people are now bush-meat right?? Lol.

For the sake of killing this particular ignorance being pumped in here, the Igbo people referred to here are a Yoruba-subgroup still occupying the Ilaje-Ese-Odo area till date.

Their traditional accounts till date still clearly recall their version of the events at Ile-Ife before their emigration.

For example, they have their side of the story to the “Moremi/Igbo” episode and why they’ve refused to honor and deify Moremi.

You didn’t know that you’ve bungled until you were called out, right??

So, if that’s the case then the bolded is unnecessary as you should have expected the calling out to even continue until you do the needful without BUTs or IFs.

To any Yoruba person here who may seem unclear or confused, etc. about any of the lies coming from these bush meats; please just make sure to type a separate comment or question in that regards (still on this same thread) and “Mention” me via TAO11 or TAO12.

I will make sure to do the needful to shatter the lies coming from these bush meats on this same thread.

If I do not get any such question or concern, etc. regarding their lies, then I take it that such particular lie has already been identified by all Yorubas here to be a blatant fatuous LIE. grin cheesy

I want to starve a particular bush meat to death from getting my attention.

This particular bush meat seems to be still battling PTSD from some two consecutive nights ago.

I ”uselessed” him on one of the nights into miming Shakespeare.

I “uselessed” him on the second night into crying foul to Igbo mods alleging that I’m a bully.

And this particular bush meat is desperate to get back my attention using several provocative tactics. He appear very desperate to get back something he had lost. cheesy
