The church of God cannot be controlled by government of a country be it a government headed by a Muslim or Christian ;I know some people will come here and say some "silly" things but let's not forget what happened to Saul before he became Paul. Now the government should beware before it comes face to face with the Mountain.
This is a head-on collision course waiting to happen if the government go ahead with this law.

Are mosques also treated similarly by the Act
U can't even see two mosques side by side in a street. On Friday, the smaller mosques will be closed and all Muslims will proceed to the central mosque to pray something which u can't see in Christianity on Sunday. Every pastor believed say his or her church is the best, hence the reason why u see seven to eight churches in a street, all because of money. A Muslim whether shitte or Sunni can enter any mosque and pray but a Catholic cannot even worship in a celestial church neither will a Baptist worship in Cherubim. The koko be say u can't make money in a mosque but u can make cool cash if u have your own church. The CAMA law is not different from what we have in Europe and America and pastor like Oyedepo respect the law over there. The law is for all religion that mismanage the financial income of their institutions including NGOs.

If not that a lot of the churches of this era has lost their spiritual strength in Christ because of worldly chase and enticement, matters like this were very very easy piece of cake to handle in the days of the early church...a true prophet will just stand in the alter of God and make a divine proclamation on all that partook in this taboo law and the nation will just watch and see how the so called leaders will just be falling dead everywhere like headless chickens until they run to the church to repent of their mockery.

Rejecting the new law in the media won't have any effect. The new CAMA is now a law that must be complied with by all afeected parties. If CAN feels that the law violates the fundamental and constitutional right of its members, they should go ahead and challenge the legality of the law in a court of competent jurisdiction. Anything other than that is just empty noise.

The CAMA law does not give room to court to look into any case. CAMA is a subtle way of destroying the Church of God in Nigeria. Ntoor to Christians who voted for next level.

The reason why this religious bodies have their association in the first place is for them to administer their affairs. Government should face the enormous problem we have in this Country....it sounds so bad how a man who can't administer the affiars of his family now coming to administer the affiars of great churches and mosques.
Re: CAN Rejects CAMA, Says Government Cannot Control Churches by membranus: 5:51pm On Aug 20, 2020
My own take is that those associations who are calling themselves churches in Nigeria are not actually churches in the eyes of God.

God knows His own Church, and its members are precious in His eyes, and He goes extra miles to protect them.

The so called Nigerian churches needs statutory control, they are supposed to help and support their members, but rather they are mostly involved in extorting their members through one form of project or another. Their leaders and their families live like kings, while their members remained in their pauperish states, awaiting their rewards in Heaven.

The financial activities of churches abroad are being monitored by authorities, and that does not stop these countries development. We need that in Nigeria too.

We were begging Christians to joins hands and not allow this government come in, we were insulted, called names, ‘let’s remove religion from politics’ was what we kept hearing from Christians’. As if that was not enough, we still prayed and brought them back. Hmmmm. May we receive the fortitude to bear this avoidable pains.

I see your point!

Government that is not serving the people as they should took it upon "themselves" to interfere in religious matter, clearly targeted the Church in this context.

When religious leaders meddle into government affairs and flaunt their flamboyant lifestyles so glaring before the Government's eyes, what do you expect!

In this case, Romans 13:1-7 comes to mind:
Every person is to be in subjection to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God.
- Therefore whoever resists authority has opposed the ordinance of God; and they who have opposed will receive condemnation upon themselves.
- For rulers are not a cause of fear for good behavior, but for evil. Do you want to have no fear of authority? Do what is good and you will have praise from the same;
- for it is a minister of God to you for good. But if you do what is evil, be afraid; for it does not bear the sword for nothing; for it is a minister of God, an avenger who brings wrath on the one who practices evil.
- Therefore it is necessary to be in subjection, not only because of wrath, but also for conscience’ sake.
- For because of this you also pay taxes, for rulers are servants of God, devoting themselves to this very thing.
- Render to all what is due them: tax to whom tax is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honor to whom honor.

1 Peter 2:13-15 says:
Therefore submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake, whether to the king as supreme, or to governors, as to those who are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers and for the praise of those who do good. For this is the will of God, that by doing good you may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men—

. . .and Acts 4:19 and 5:29:
But Peter and John answered and said to them, “Whether it is right in the sight of God to give heed to you rather than to God, you be the judge;

But Peter and the apostles answered, “We must obey God rather than men.

If these laws are passed to law, and religious leaders refuses to obey it, then anarchy is bound to happen soonest because there would be conflict of interests between the two parties!

Even the devil himself can quote the Bible.

The churches brought this upon themselves.

There are many muslim communities just like Zakzaky group in North. They mind their business and never get involved in govt issues. Zakyzaky stays in govt business all the time. Thats why he is in trouble now.

Jonathan set a bad precedence when he will have these pastors meddling govt business. They got too comfortable and started commenting on what govt is doing or not doing. When you are a tax exempt organization, stay away from govt the best you can. Put a long distance between you and govt. Govt has all the rules and ways to fvk up anyone, if they choose to. These churches did same thing Zakyzaky did, started fvkng with govt. So now govt wants to fcvk with them too. Its unfortunate but its reality.

There is a pastor in America called Pastor Dollar or something like that. He used to condemn govt and live large and flaunt. One of their legislators got on his case and wanted to probe him and his church. The Pastor got the message at that point.

If CAMA can bring out same result in Nigerian pastors it will be great. The money they waste on acquiring jets and building for-profit private institutions should be better used in promoting wellbeing and supporting the needs of communities and people. At the end of it, people benefit when churches come to their aid in times of distress and need.

With all the millions your governors have been collecting...how has it bettered the lives of your people....e-gullible crew.

Let's put aside the bad eggs among the churches (if there is original there must be fake), it seems the government doesn't know the roles church plays in Nigeria; from the alms giving to fear of God they preach to people (even though people don't obey to fullest but it keeps reminding them to soft pedal on their dealings). If the good ones among them stop preaching the fear of God, I fear for Nigeria.
