GTkester:How many third world countries have their universities among the best in the world? Even China's Tingua is not among the top 20 of any list in the world. We are going to keep celebrating hard working Nigerians who work hard to distinguish themselves and re brand the image of our country abroad whether you like it or not. 46 Likes |

Again, Calling out you peoples lies and frustrating you guys lies is more of a vocation to me. We Ndigbo must rise to challenge the many lies of ndi afoezi. Just like your listing partner is already claiming that he did a sample of Igbos and Yorubas in foreign universities in US with the data he got from Mama iyabos ass. Just see how evil and demonic you people can be. And if I didn't call him out on that lie tomorrow another afoezi will quote h as an authority. GTkester: You are a first-class hypocrite. If truly you are angry at the current state of affairs in Nigeria, that anger should be directed at your Igbo politicians of the first Republic (especially Azikiwe and Okpara) and indeed subsequent ones that chose the North over the West, and repeatedly rejected Awolowo and the West's overture/advances towards forming a political alliance for the purpose of moving Nigeria forward. 59 Likes 6 Shares

GTkester: You're just a bitter, hateful and tribalistic IPOBian hack. All your posts are nothing but attempts to denigrate "Afonja". This is essentially the problem of most Igbos. You have been brainwashed from infancy to believe you are superior to all other black people and Africans. It shows in the ways you casually insult your fellow Nigerians and even other Africans as lazy, unambitious, unintelligent etc, etc. Yorubas alone always bust your egocentric and megalomiac bubble and best you at everything. Be it Wole Soyinka Nobel Laureate, Tiwa Savage being the most dominant female African pop Musician in modern history or Tinubu's universal acclaim as the most accomplished political brain in Nigeria today. This is why you hate them. It is why you hate Tinubu and all dominant Yorubas. If you know the UK, and especially London, you will know that what the Yoruba head teacher and Nigerian students are achieving at that Scbool is nothing less than extraordinary. Trust Igbos to always hate on the success and talent of others though rather than celebrate, praise or learn from it. 51 Likes 1 Share |

GTkester: You're nothing but a bitter, divisive and hateful slowpoke. Can't you see your fellow IPOBian haters know not to join you on this thread because the all-round and exemplary brilliance of Yorubas here, from the school's transformational and brilliant Yoruba head teacher to the students themselves, makes it is obvious that this is one of those moments when "if you can't say nothing good say nothing at all" ? It shows the extent of your own hardcore and rabid hatred of "Afonja" that you are here alone ranting over what is a commendable and joyous revelation any sane and normal black person would celebrate and be proud of wherever they are from. Na Beans to go Oxford or Cambridge from even the finest private Schools let alone a London government-funded Sixth form college be consistently sending an enviable number of their students there year after year? Hateful IPObian douchebag. 50 Likes 1 Share |

GTkester: E pain am. Truth hurts. If truly you are angry, I have already advised you on those that you should direct your anger at - - your good for nothing and myopic igbo leaders, both past and present. Thankfully, the current crop of mainstream Yoruba political elite have learned from the mistakes of the likes of Awolowos; they have realized the true political worth of igbos in Nigeria as presently constituted (which is next to nothing), and have instead chose a more pragmatic path towards power politics in Nigeria. If only Awolowo had realized early enough that in his quest to rule Nigeria in order to drive and implement his great visions for the country, that he was 'barking up the wrong tree' by repeatedly and literally begging for an alliance with igbos, perhaps he would have had better chances of bargaining to realize that ambition with those that really matter. While Awo was demonstrating an idealistic approach to power politics by begging igbos for an alliance, igbos repeatedly showed that they had no scruples about allying with the North to share power. But we Yorubas don shine our eyes by being more politically pragmatic. So omo yeibo, your anger never even start. Wait till another yoruba man ascends the Presidency in 2023. Na den you go begin weep and gnash your teeth in real anger. 45 Likes 5 Shares |

ODVanguard: The competence and stand-out brilliance of Yorubas is what Igbos hate and envy. Forget the stupid petition against Tinubu they rushed to sign. The creatures of hate are not and have never being advocates of good governance otherwise they would not be led by the worst political leaders in the whole of Nigeria. They merely hate Tinubu for his political brilliance and are literally shit-scared Awolowo part 2 is about to become President. Tell me why someone living in Abia and has never set foot in Lagos can/should be the biggest and most rabid hater of Tinubu. Even here it is what is revealed about the Yoruba head teacher of the school, which earned him an OBE, that is eating this hateful IPOBians guts from inside out. The brilliance of Yoruba kids is just extra bonus. Let gullible and 'asleep' Yorubas continue forming liberal. We the woke ones will ensure naivete of our fathers, including that of Awolowo as you identify, is gone and remain gone. With knowledge of who our enemies are, we must move forward with a result-oriented approach that places Yoruba interest first. That is what all others are doing in Nigeria today while some Yorubas continue to accomodate and empower those who hate us deeply. The school Principal, Mr Dayo Olukoshi who has since taken the institution to heights never attained before joined Brampton Manor as the Principal/headteacher in 2008, having previously worked as a teacher and senior leader in various UK schools since 1992. He has been awarded an OBE (Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) for Services to Education. 36 Likes 1 Share |

ODVanguard:You are right. Awo made a lot of mistakes and the biggest of them all was seeking alliance- not only with igbos but also northerners. The best thing to do now is for yorubas to look inward and believe we've got what it takes to make our land progressive irrespective of what the rest of Nigeria is up to. Seeking alliance with the north is counterproductive as history has shown over and over. 11 Likes |

obaaderemi: Awolowo made serious mistakes and we Yorubas ourselves made a big blunder by allowing Obasanjo, the worst candidate from Yorubaland, become President and thus a pointer, albeit an innacurate one, of what a Yoruba President can do. This is why some of us are very passionate about a 2023 Yoruba President. We have no weak links at all as per likely candidates. Instead we are loaded withbrilliant individuals who can lead Nigeria to the next level. In essence, I agree with you that we must look inward more but the Presidency, because of its centrists concentration of power, will allow us do this far better when innovative federal policies empower what we wish to achieve in our SW region. 8 Likes |
Re: 20 Nigerian Students Of Brampton Manor Academy Break Into Best UK Universities by ODVanguard: 11:41am On Aug 22, 2020 |
obaaderemi: Well, I see it a bit differently. For as long as Nigeria remains the way it currently is structurally, Yorubas must continue to have a strong stake in Nigeria mainstream politics. And for that reason alliances with other regions will be inevitable. We are not operating a regional structure whereby each region has the quasi-independence to drive its own socio-politico-economic policies. A hostile FG/central government can render state efforts futile under Nigeria's current structure therefore our political elite must always play smart politics, at least until a more (truly) federal structure replaces the current one. No geopolitical zone can go it alone (as it were during regionalism) under the current structure. So we should accommodate different strategic approaches to power politics in yorubaland, to be safe. Let those agitating for a more federal structure (restructuring) and outright regional independence continue to do so, while those with the political savvy should also ensure that Yorubas continue to have a seat at the decision-making table in Abuja should also keep doing so - - (in order to make sure we don't get shortchanged). That'll be a win-win for the race. Practicing wholesale political isolationism under the current structure will not work in our favour. 22 Likes |

ODVanguard: Indeed. Yorubas cannot shun the ultimate seat of power regardless of the model of development we wish to pursue. A strong presence in Federal politics is essential and non-negotiable because the truly reformational and progressively radical policies and directives can only best be driven by the Presidency using his leadership of the executive arm of governance. 8 Likes |

For a state school located in an area riddled with gang culture, Nigerians, Somalis, Pakistanis, Yardies carrying knives from Upton Park, Barking, Plaistow fighting and cutting each other. Brampton should be celebrated. Olukoshi has done well bringing a culture of hope, passion and excellence. I will celebrate this man all day with my flattie cap balancing on my flat head. GTkester: We can do better when we are ready to pay the kind of fees Warwick and Cambridge students pay. A former VC of a university in Nigeria, when he was still in office, gave a speech 2 years ago whose topic was 'University funding'. Among the things he said was this gem...'If you want Cambridge level degrees, better be prepared to pay Cambridge level fees' . The guy also commented that his university (ABU Zaria to be precise) had overhead costs of N50million monthly, yet the government gave them N10 million monthly for overhead. Everyday, on this site, I keep on seeing people blasting our unviersites for not being in the top 1000 or top 100 globally. Well, with most of them on fees less than $200 a year, and an educaiton budget less than $3 billion (when Harvard has a budget of 48 billion.)..and the aforementioned Cambridge chages over 8000 pounds for international students and uk students (Warwick the same thing)...what do you expect?? You are expecting a 9000 pound level performace from a sum less than 200 pounds. That's not possible. If you want world class unviersites, either we pay higher fees, or we raise our tax to gdp ratio from 6% to 28% or higher, or we take another loan. Or we cut fuel subsides and redirect the money saved to universites. 25 Likes 1 Share |
