My dad gave some vegetables drinks to once of my very close friends. I don't know how he said he (my friend) should use it but now my Friend sees clearly. No more cataract. Hospitals will demand surgery but our fathers know how to cure that thing the natural way.

I once have cataract in my right eye. It was very painful. The doctors were charging N350,000 in Eko hospital just for eye surgery. I happen to meet one of my primary school mate in 1996. I visited him at home and when his dad saw my eye, he took a close look at it and he went to agility in mile 12, and brought a leave , heated the leave up and squeeze the water into a spoon and pour it into my eye. He repeated it thrice and that was the end of cataract. I have been using that same eye now for more than 20 years now, no issue.i see very clearly. The problem now is, I have been searching for that my friend now and have not been able to found him. Since he relocated from mile 12, in Lagos. I wish I know the leave that will have been helpful to alot of people who has cataract.

Pls, I need some help.
I don't know if it's cataracts or not. I'm 2014, I noticed my eyes wasn't seeing quite clearly as before so I visited an eye doctor, and she gave me glasses. Fast forward to 2016, it seems the glasses wasn't working well again as I wasnt feeling the eyes, I went back and another glasses was given. Pls note, I see clearly near by things, but when am in class, I need sit in the first two seat, else, board will be blur. In 2019 again, the sight was very poor and the glasses seemed useless. I went back for check and discovered the eyes has further deteriorated, and a new pair of glasses was given. Now, am feeling as though the eyes has further deteriorated and it's giving me serious concern. Pls, any help

This is probably degenerative Myopia. A kind of shortsightedness that naturally gets "worse" as one ages. What location in Nigeria are you so I can advise properly?

Cataracts can be surgically operated. And NO!!!
No leaves nor mixture can cure it. Some old artisans use some agricultural chemicals to melt the lens in the eye giving temporary vision. of those eyes go blind in the future.
Kindly tag or pm me for any cataract or eye care questions. Will be willing to oblige

How much it would take for the surgery and how long time to heal after...

The average cost of the surgery is around 80,000. However, during some outreach programmes, it can be as low as 30,000 or even free.

After the surgery, you should start noticing improvements within 48 hours, although some could take as much as a week to adjust

OP Is glaucoma curable like cataract?

Glaucoma is not curable like cataracts, but there are drugs that can help you manage it.
It is just like the hypertension or diabetes situation.

Boss... Someone close to me cried so much... Elder Sha, like 50 upward... Sumtin happened and she never stopped crying... Till the thing affected her eyes..

She has been on it for years now but now seems it's getting worse..

So, she met sumone dt has same issue too and they directed her to a place Sha....

Boss, cud too much tears cause eye problem?

I do not think what happened to her has to do with the tears.

I hope where she was referred to is a hospital?
If so, she would be assessed and the main cause of the visual loss would be addressed.

someone battling with high BP and cataract, how can the surgery be done

When the person gets to the hospital, He/She would be accessed and placed on Anti-hypertensive drugs, and his/her BP would be monitored until such a time when it is safe for surgery, and then the surgery would be done as others.

I would advice that you go to a tertiary hospital (teaching or FMC), due to the fact that they have all available specialties to give comprehensive care to such person.

Thanks for sharing, but does it mean that it will be mature enough before it's removed surgically? someone close to me it's affected with it, although he's been to the hospital, they optometrist abi optician whichever told him the cataract isn't ripe for surgery instead he would be given glasses which will aid his vision and sight,so is there something we can do pending when it's time for the surgery, thanks.

Similar to what you were told at the hospital, the person can be given glasses as well as medications that can help him/her manage the situation, until such a time.

It doesnt mean that the surgery cannot be done, it can.

However, when it comes to surgeries, we have to weigh the risk of surgery against the benefit at that point in time.

If the sight isnt very bad or advanced, the risk outweighs the benefit, but if the person has total vision loss or near total, the the benefit outweighs the risk.

I believe that is what was considered in your case.

I would have loved to see this leaf of yours and see if it can be sent to the laboratory and they would figure out what it contains.

However, at the moment, there is no leave or substance that you would put into your eyes to clear a cataracts.

Most importantly, please, never put anything into your eye, especially a heated substance.

At the moment, there is no substance like that. When there is, i would surely let nairalanders know about it.

However, there are eyedrops that can help you manage the situation if it is not well advanced

Good! What about itching eyes that makes water to come out from somebody eyes?
There is something in your environment that you are allergic to.

That is known as allergic conjuctivitis, i would likely be writing on that condition tomorrow.

This is so informative...I’m sure the best person that needs this well for me it happened from child birth I think cause from the story my mom told me she happened to sleep sideways or some kinda while pregnant so suddenly when she gave birth she realize one eye is bigger than the other and till date I can’t see vision with the other eye but the bigger one works perfectly is that also a symptoms of cataract and is it cureable..?

I would not be able to tell, until i am able to see the affected eyes.

I would like to ask if you have visited a hospital since it occured, especially to see an opthamologist?
If you havent, i would suggest you do so.

Did I forgot to say I once went for an eye check up and the doctor told me the eye was covered with cataracts cause my parent were non challant about it and doesn’t welcome it whenever I tell them I can’t see with the eye

If it was diagnosed by the Eye doctors as a cataract, then yes, it is curable.
