Why do people always want to pin the commencement of Nigerian existence or history of woes from Jonathan's tenure.

Even if you were not born before that government, a simple Google search should educate you that Turn Around Maintenance (TAM) of refineries has been going on since Shehu Shagari's govt, thru the military era of Babangida and Abacha, through Obasanjo's govt to the present Buhari government. They have been spending hundreds of billions yearly on Turn Around Maintenance, yet the refineries remain comatose. It's one of avenues the well connected in collusion with NNPC top management use to siphon billions from government treasury.

Kaduna Refinery should have been mothballed, and sold as scrap metal many years ago, because it has not been operational for over 20years, yet they keep the full compliments of staff and pay them salary and etsacodes for foreign business travel and training for political reasons. Yet we wonder why NNPC keeps declaring loses every year, while thier JV partners
Exxonmobil, Shell, Chevron, Total and Agip in the upstream business declare humungous profit yearly.

PMB also came on to inherit the renovation and still no difference. It is so obvious that there are some few Nigerians who won’t allow the rehabilitations of the refineries to come on crystal display of full capacity in output cos of what they stand to lose.

It is high time the FG thought of doing away with the refineries, privatizing them and let the individual or corporate handling them to get them to full capacity

They did not do any turnaround maintenance, the funds was sabotaged. For example Can't you see the installation of train from Lagos - ibadan, everyone can see such funds was used for it, where is the turnaround structures that was put in place?

Story for the gods...what happen to the two in the state, which has remain dormant? Why not used the fund to revamped the decaying two refineries. ...This Nigeria n our leaders just tire me sef!
