I am saying this from a personal opinion, i actually believed messi is being smart here, obviously he doesn't get along with the board, and barcelona and real Madrid are sometimes fond on making great players that are fading leave unceremoniously and unrewarded, the way Suarez is being discarded also could play on his mind, he knows there is no post Messi plan in place at the club now, and should this current board have a post Messi plan anytime soon he would be discarded or retired unceremoniously, he sees the new coach as their man after his meeting with him and so decided if I am going to be bundled out anytime soon when there is a plan in place I would rather not let it get to that and leave on my own accord
