The journalists messed up. That attack was an attack on the media, not on one journalist. By sitting there and pleading with FFK, they all lost my respect. They should have walked out.

The Nigerian Guild of Editors messed up as well. By this morning, they should inundate the airwaves with headlines to bash FFK for example:

FFK demonstrates his lack of home training by publicly assaulting a journalist

FFK declares himself an enemy of the press

FFK behaves in an infantile way: fingers journalist in verbal diatribe

FFK demonstrates failure in parenting by verbal terrorism

Hammer of treasonable felony charges hanging: FFK depressed

Also, the broadcast media, including NTA, should have used FFK's outburst as their lead bulletin and invite discussants including clinical psychologists, psychiatrists, and behavioural therapists to examine the mental health of FFK and his public conduct. By the time the print and broadcast media is inundated with FFK's idiocy for more than 48 hours, he'd beg. He'd be forgiven but he'd receive a media freeze, i.e., he won't be reported by the media again. That way, FFK would fizzle out of national consciousness. Our media failed to protect one of their own.

This is an area where we'd need to commend Mamman Daura, Nduka Obaigbena, Tony Momoh and Isa Funtua. These guys would move mountains to protect journalists. Who is the President of the Nigerian Guild of Editors? The person messed up.
