Nothing is awaste, I had our marriage band aired on radio for two weeks before the d day but now whenever my wife is teasing me, I will joked about it, we will laugh over it, so is not really a waste even though I don't have to do it, cos it makes the memories of that day blissful, if u pay bride price of someone from mbaise and she still turn out a good deal, u will realize nothing is wasted on a wedding day... The money on me was exhausted all the things they told me they have removed as they see my parents car, they changed their mind.. thank God my mom came with money, I was shocked, And grateful to God who did not allow me to be put to shame

Lol grin, but didn't you take a look in the mirror after she was done to decide if you liked what you saw or to decide if something should be changed?

I hate make up! It makes me look old too and I don't like how it stains clothes when you hug a person or turns a white handkerchief into something dreadful. I limit myself to mascara, white powder and lip gloss.

As for not recognizing yourself, I can relate to that. My former neighbour of 3 years invited me to her baby's dedication in church, I got there and I was looking for her, while staring at her from 10 feet away. Her make-up was so hideous I didn't recognize her. I said chineke what do we do to ourselves in the name of make up?
Especially those lashes. It does not add a single drop of beauty to women. I wish they knew.Their eyes get reddened, they keep blinking non-stop. Hair do and facial make-up is okay, but not lashes.

Hmm..

I dont really believe in impressing any one by spending unnecessarily. Life after marriage needs all that money people waste on ceremonies.

same with me o.i kept pleading for low key things.till date I don't live above my budget ,I believe in planning for the future.

Can I make use of your wife's wedding gown?
Built2last:
Married folks,
What was that thing you later realised you wasted your money on during your wedding ceremony?

For me was Wedding IV. Spent money printing quality IV. I should have just used WhatsApp, Facebook and SMS and people would still have come. My mums friends and associates was enough crowd.

I travelled with my woman to UK to shop for wedding gown, shoe and wrist watch. Spent £2,200 on gown. £800 wristwatch I cant remember the price of the shoe now. That's for madam alone.

Madam now forced me to buy wedding suits for me and my best man.

Looking back, I would have built a bungalow with this stupid expense. Even my madam now regrets spending such money on wedding gown that she wore for 2 hours and that was it. The gown is wasting somewhere now.

I know I wasted money unnecessary. My only joy is the good wife I married.

Share the mistakes you made in expense planning wedding

Agbada dress. In the last 13 years, I wore that agbada only once after my wedding, that was during my 40th birthday. Its just there in the wardrobe doing nothing.

This thread will put Many event planners business @ risk.
Corona has made obvious what really matters.

Guys, focus on the basics. Pay her bride price and receive blessings from both parents. Notify the registry and get your certificate and move on with your life. Go to your pastors office for blessing if need be.

Dont let anyone bamboozle you into spending over and beyond. I remember tiwari savage wedding that year even toke makinwa.... no be by extravagant the wedding be oo.

Must u wear second hand thingd in this country.
If you can't afford new, rent naa
Baybii feel that a person should be able to sell off her expensive gown to someone else.

Unfortunately, a wedding gown is no investment. Once it is worn even if it is for 1 hour, it looses nothing less than 50% of its original price.

There is no way wisdom in purchasing an expensive wedding gown.

Can't you resell some things? Like the gown. If you feel you wasted so much money. I'm sure a gown of that price would still be good enough to fetch you some money.

This thing happened to my uncle in Plateau state. He is a poor pastor, they thought and gave him a minimal list. Until a convoy of his brothers cars showed up with bride price.

The elders absconded and wrote a new list in hiding. We had to monetize a lot and sent a second party 2 days later.

Nothing,.... my wedding was strictly court and reception for about 30 people. Didn't regret nothing.

Mine too was strictly on invitation and we invited 100. I don't regret anything because there was no wasteful spending. My wife made her dress for the day, something simple and beautiful, this saved funds that would have been spent on buying or even renting a wedding gown. I wore one of my nice suits and saw no need to buy a new one. Instead of renting a hall and decorating it, a private home was used which saved cost. Since it was strictly on invitation it wasn't challenging to organize, more so there was enough to eat and drink. In the end I got married to my friend with no anxiety of debts incurred

Make up. I hated the make up. The lashes were as long as a local broom, I was just flapping my eyes like doll baby. I didn't look like me in the pictures at all. The make up aged me and I've not been able to determine which of my wedding pictures I like.

I have concluded heavy make up and eye lashes aren't for me. Full stop.

Hahaha. That's the unfortunate experience for many ladies. Many end up looking different and ugly because of heavy makeup
