what a poor ORIENTATION. With all the oshiomohle campaing for buhari in 2 terms and so much crowd he garnered during presidential elections , pdp candidate had always defeated buhari despite the so-called federal might, state being governed by apc and same being the ruling party last year. Outsiders predicting what's gonna happen in our state. If ize-iyamu has 20% votes, it must be as a result of his hardwork.

Ize-Iyamu will take Edo back to Igbinedion’s era – Oshiomhole
September 18, 2016

The Governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole, has criticised a former Governor of the state, Chief Lucky Igbinedion, for saying Oshomhole’s successor will emerge from the Peoples Democratic Party.

Igbinedion, who was governed the state between 1999 and 2007, had recently said that the next governor would not only emerge from his political family but that the party would win by a wide margin.

But Oshiomhole told journalists at the 84th birthday celebration of a former Governor of the Midwestern region, Dr. Samuel Ogbemudia on Saturday that the state would not return to the ‎”dark era” of the opposition party.

The governor said that the task for residents of state on September 28, the day of the governorship poll, was to choose whether they wanted the house of Igbinedion, as allegedly represented by Pastor Ize-Iyamu, or they wanted to sustain the breakaway.

‎He explained, “The people have a clear choice to make. You want Igbinedion era back because Ize-Iyamu has been straight forward on it that they want to change this change to the Igbinedion era. Lucky has confirmed that one of their own would be used to reverse the clock back.”

He added, “Edo cannot return to the house of the Igbinedions… They want to use tax payers’ money to celebrate a man who has never served Edo State. ‎”

He called on people to vote for the All Progressives Congress candidate, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, in order to move the state forward.

“Edo people have seen the light. They cannot go back to the dark era which the Igbinedion house represents. They will consolidate the present gain and raise it to a higher level by voting for Godwin Obaski, who is not and will never be part of the Igbinedions,” he said.

You don't want to hear the truth from a neutral person in Edo.... Not until after the election , no party is sure of the loyality of their party members...I can't rule out what u have said, common to all parties , those people are always on uniform, and are party members. but what I am very sure of is that the Edo people that are non party members attending their campaigns, are doing so to all parties as long as they pay them... Same people attending all parties campaigns for the money here in Edo north... I guess the highest bidder will get the people's vote on the election day .

I disagree with your analysis. If there is a free and fair election, I do not see a scenario where GNO would defeat POI. When GNO and others start talking about how PDP won the last Presidential election in the state, as well as the fact that Edo people do not vote for parties but personalities; here's a spin on that;

1. The vote was a referendum on the APC under his leadership and his governance of the state--He lost
2. By that result, the Edo people rejected his personality, style of governance and whatever he had to offer--PDP as opposition party said that much in their criticism of GNO until "taxes were paid"
3. The face of the PDP was POI, it could likewise be inferred that he attracted the votes in that election, and that the Edo people agree with his personality.

In summation; GNO lost to POI in the last statewide election, he will lose again in this coming election. Edo people have rejected once his personality and style of governance, they will have a chance again for a final time in a little over 3 weeks.
