I agree with u cos I was also told not to eat fried foods, oily foods, if I want to cook soup I pour in the pepper into the pot first then add oil to it later, not lying down immediately after eating, at least 1-2 hours before lying down, reduce pepper in my foods and reduce sour citrus fruits like unripe orange cos its acidic

I did abodomal scan in january everything was fine and they suggest i do h.pylori test and stool occult blood. I did both test last week Saturday the h.pylori is positive while occult blood is negative. Will be going to the hospital tomorrow I'm scared cos I'm pregnant

For your h.pylori to even come positive, Doctors will know what to tackle. Mine came negative and am having positive symptoms, you can imagine that. Tho i don't trust the test i did and am re doing it today. Please don't be scared, be calm, your baby is safe but please don't take any medication without the Doctor prescription.

I believe there is swelling but not much pronounced, that is why you are feeling as if there is a lump there, which is why your breathing is affected sometimes.. If it is not treated in time, it will become visible.

Does GERD causes numbness of the palm and feet, paralytic sensation in the face, nose and a feeling of wounds in the head when there's actually no wound all over the head, unusual dizziness and body tremblings...all these started since 3rd of Feb... Ran alot of tests and scan, the doctor diagnosed me of extreme stress and low HDL.. Docs in the house plz help out, my family believes it's a spiritual attack but I don't want to believe that,although I've been praying fervently and God is hearing them but I just want to know whether stress and low HDL could cause all these.

I can relate to what u are going tru, I had this GERD too while still in school, I was given esomega tablet, I used it but it kept coming back, I'll always be in serious pain cos of heartburn until I went to FMC in Abeokuta and a female doctor attendee to me, she assured me if I can follow the prescription it won't happen to me again, I was given Tab Elicorid, Gaviscon syrup and Tab Rabikol, I can't remember the dosage o cos its over 5years now and I haven't had it again since then, I was also advises not to take oily foods, and also not to lie down to sleep immediately after eating n reduced fried foods but I eat anything now cos I'm perfectly fine

That's the problem am facing now..that breath of a thing..it started during fasting period.serious heart burn.stomach burn and difficult breathing, After taken some medicine it stop and I continue my fasting.but av started facing same problem since on Monday.

Ciproxin is not good for those managing GERD, GASTRITIS OR PEPTIC ULCER DISEASE as it tend to worsen it.

I have taken all drugs prescribed here. No effect pls help.. this thick liquid keeps coming everytime. I just finish two gaviscon again

Sorry for my late reply, that thing can be serious. I don't take tablet anymore for it. Buy ginger, original honey and lemon or lime. Peel the ginger and count into small pieces, put in a pot and boil. Every day like twice or 3 or once take the ginger you boiled (warm), add lemon or lime, add like one to 2 table spoon of honey to taste, then drink. U will start belching, the more u belch the more u feel relieve. Start with that and watch what u eat too. Stay away from sweet and chocolate completely. Start with that first

Someone has thought me something new (herbal) today, am getting it tomorrow. She said it will cure it permanently

jus ignore.... na who wear shoe no were e dey pain am... he tot gerd is like malaria... even in most of d developed countries doctor find it difficult to treat gerd patients, all dey do is keep prescribing drugs dat has no impact not to talk of nigeria doctors.. let him go to quora and reddit and c pple dat has gerd for close to 30yrs and above worsened by doctors prescription. d only effective medical solutions to gerd is surgery dat one even comes with complications.. gerd is effectively treated and maintain by lifestyle and diet change.

I don't know any Nigerian diet that will help. But I think someone on this thread did mention some.

Personally, I think letting off non acidic, fried food, alcohol, eating in moderation, not taking anything 2-3 hours before bed, even water because it might regurgitate.

Thanks iv been eventually referred to UCH, and apart from money issue I really don't want anything that will lead to surgery. I'm tired, I have run, prayed and do all things... I don't wish this on my enemy....

I have similar symptoms but mine is not a lump in the throat but in my chest, right at the center but sometimes moves to my breast region. It comes with chest pain and general discomfort. My upper abdomen too hurts. When this pain comes it makes my arms feel weak.
But I noticed the day I have good sleep at night I will feel relatively well all day and opposite the day I don't have good sleep. I have not been sleeping well since it started. I take sleeping pills to help me sleep most times.
All my tests came back very good. I even did ECG thinking it was my heart but No. The doctor said it's acid reflux and gave me drugs similar to those you guys have mentioned (am in Ghana) but I only see a little improvements. I need it to disappear completely.
