Good of you BABA

What I usually do now is that ones i known that your building is a commercial structure with above 8 toilets I will introduced larger diameter pipe like 6” thick pipe with solid block chamber. with this you can’t experience blockage. The 1st one I deed was about 8yrs ago, block of 6 flats till today no opening of chamber for once.

I don’t even know why we’re talking about it really cheesy

Oga, I am with you in this matter. Whatever you did, i will do .
I just hate those ugly block and slab chambers. Many moisture problems in abuja houses are on walls adjacent to those ugly chambers.
Even the blockage people talk about occur at those chambers where there is no smooth transition from incoming pipes to outgoing pipe.

I recognize your opinion but my system works for me.

You’ll do fine, it’s not the rocket science that’s it’s being made to be.

Our attention should be geared towards important stuff like proper foundation so houses don’t sink or collapse, not how to flow shit into a tank.

On this matter I rest cheesy

Don’t discount solar in the future. But the regular and properly sized wires that carries phcn will also carry renewable energy.

This is one reason I respect ihebrooke (Nairaland architect) so much. He always ensure he obtain all the relevant information before designing for me.

Yeah, i get your drift, the avg nigerian artisan doesnt like buying tools, or cant even see them to buy them, or needs to be told they exist and shown how to operate them.

The Y or T connector would serve a diyer better, since he would have the tools to fix a blockage and be willing to use them as well. Sadly, the avg nigerian doesnt have the diy mindset.

As per blockage, strange things can cause blockage, when i was much younger and not so responsible, finished using the toilet and inadvertently, a brush fell into the bowl. I just cudnt see myself retrieveing it.. i simply flushed everything, this is a rented apartment, 1st floor. Knowing what i know now, the brush would likely cause blockage sometime in the future.

Sanitary pads is another big culprit, females choose to flush it down the loo since in Nigeria people now go round to collect used sanitary pads from refuse bins to do only what dem and their ancestors know of

Having too many elbows in the piping causes blockage as well. A not so experienced plumber & homeowner could end up with that

I am in need of quotes for supply and installation of gray powdered coated aluminium ebm curtain wall system and frameless glass for a commercial project on 3 levels , nigalex could also be considered , external glass will be 6 or 10 mm untempered , internal is 10mm tempered , it includes collapsible doors

While I have several quotes already , been following this thread for a few days and I feel I might be able to get better in terms of quality and pricing , must be people with verifiable projects preferably commercial . Location is ibadan

Do you still need more quotes? We are experienced working with glass, cladding etc in various parts of the country. you can look up our thread on nairaland since 2012. Thanks https://www.nairaland.com/1082585/2020-building-construction-office-fitout

Please I need top notch recommendations for artisans that can handle the following jobs:

1. Plastering
2. POP
3. Window design

I understand our brothers from Republic of Benin are skilled at these tasks. So I wouldn't mind someone from that side.

Please let me mention that I prefer to work directly with the artisans. I do not need middlemen or contractors.

Thank you

good day house, all protocol duly observed. I say kudos to ogas in the house that has been there making it happening day in day out

my request is how good and advisable to do pop before plastering and if pop is done before plastering, how do you get rid off the cement/concrete stain or how do you protect already installed pop from staining

peace!!
To get the best finishing, you have to plaster before installing p.o.p, if not, the plaster will most definitely stain the p.o.p installed

When I designed the first model of this building in 2012, parapet and curtain wall wasn’t in vogue then so we went with cladded fascia.

This is my no. 8 model of this particular build. However this is coming with new additions.

Configuration:

- 5 Bedroom Duplex (all room en-suite)
- Game Room in the Attic (Yes you heard me attic grin)
- 2 large living room
- Ante room
- Sky Roof (yet to be installed)
- Gym
- No wraparound terrace but there are balconies on 3 sides.
- 2 entrances
- Smarthome Technologies
- 14ft headroom ground floor
- 13ft headroom upper floor

And then there’s:
- 2 Bed Apartment (all room en-suite)

.great design

I love these high windows, am wondering how u secure it from being an easy access point for robbers?
How do you intend to cool the game room in the attic

Whats your projected cost to finish the build?

Or rather how many 5inches block can one set with one bag of cement...
Pls I need to know b4 this engineer put holes in my pocket

You used the word set, generally in fencing, its 1 bag to 100 blocks, so similar should be true for buildings perhaps 80 blocks to 1 bag.
I think people misunderstood tour question to mean moulding..

Projected Cost to Finish: N40m

Securing Windows: We already made provision for matching burglar bars to be installed on the ground and upper floor for that particular window and others.

Cooling the Game Room: There's provision of a 25mm ventilation gap along the eaves. We are also making provision of 50mm air gap between roof insulation and a vapour control layer. Then, there's plan for a vent extraction fan discharging to outside air.
