BS BS BS BIRTH STORY

PRE-PREGNANCY:
In October last year I had a miscarriage at 3 months. Started seeing brown discharges with menstrual kinda pain. It was horrible because the tissue took like a week to come out.... Imagine seeing what should have been your child dangling under you when you use the loo and you have no choice than to pull it out. (sorry for the groose picture I painted). The doctor couldn't give any explanation, he just said some pregnancies ain't meant to be.... It was a lose that almost affected me mentally. But I thank God for strength because hubby and I started baby dancing in few weeks after bleeding stopped, I bought almost 15 strip and I use it every morning to check if anything is happening.... And thennnnnn

PREGNANCY:
One evening in 'November/December' I checked and bam I saw a very faint second line. I was so happy that I kept using the strip morning and evening untill the line became thicker by the day. When I was certain, I went to the hospital to inform the doctor... When I got there he confirmed the pregnancy with a scan, afterwards, he sat me down and said, "maddam, do you want me to really treat you so that you can carry to term without miscarriage again? " I nodded my head like an agama lizard, then he goes "you have to be on progesterone injection till 12 weeks" which I had no problem with until he went further to say I will also need a cerclage procedure done because he suspected that my cervix isn't okay that was why I had the previous miscarriage.... Lol! Right there in my head I was like 1. You didn't even do a scan to check if my cervix is okay.
2. When the miscarriage happened you told me it is not meant to be that I was okay medically.

Okaay o. I asked him how much is the caclage, he said 280k. My intestain immediately began doing press up.... Lol. And then I remembered a medical friend telling me "some" private hospital perform this surgery on "some" people that have insurance or are disperate even if they don't need the procedure . It's another way to make cash. And right there I discided to change the hospital and sort another opinion... PLEASE NOTE THAT I'M NOT SAYING IT IS NOT GOOD O... I JUST FOLLOWED MY INTUITION WHICH CAN BE DANGEROUS. AND NO IT WASN'T TOTALLY BECAUSE OF THE MONEY.

So I changed hospital and told the new doctor about my history and all he said was he will give me a tablet to take till I'm 8 months... Well, I did not take it because I did not have mentral cramp or bleeding and above all I was scared to take any drug apart from pregnancare so my baby won't be deformed.. YES I CAN BE ANNOYING ALMOST ALL THE TIME WITH MY IDEOLOGY lol....

Then one night in my first trimester I had a dream that I lost the pregnancy, the next morning I didn't even take the dream serious until I went to use the loo and BAM I saw blood..... Haaaaaa..... I just fell on the bathroom floor and cried my eyes out, I wept like a baby to Jesus and right there He said the solution is in my hand... I quickly remembered the drug the doctor recommended.... I searched for it but couldn't find any because I always disgard it anytime I leave the hospital... I ran back to the doctor and confessed.... He then assured me that I will be fine... He gave me another dose and I took it till I was 8 month without any belly cramp or bleeding... Though if I forget to take it at night, I usually have stomach cramps during the day.

At 34 weeks, scan showed my baby was getting big 3.2 and the doctor adviced going for another CS if baby was beyond 3.4 because of uterus rupture or something, because of my previous CS... So I opted for elective CS at 40 weeks (I wanted it at 37 weeks self but hubby was like why the rush, let baby cook very well).

THE BIRTH
At 38 weeks, I woke up with cramps... I immediately knew something was up, I wore my running shoes and took a walk for almost an hour 30 minute. Few days before this time I took zobo and I purged so much that I disgarded the rest. Through out the day the pain was increasing so we discided to go to the hospital at 11pm and the young doctor on duty said everything was tight down there and I was not dilating.... We went back home and I couldn't sleep. So at 6am we went back to the hospital, and the morning doctor checked and said I was 6cm....i was so happy eh..... The pain increased and by 10am I was fully dilated the amniotic sack was 'broken', The doctor said she could feel baby and asked me to push, I pushed but they said I wasn't pushing enough but mahn all my energy was gone. Untill a metron came in and felt that baby is still not close enough but I was fully dilated I tried pushing for like 1 hour. And then the unthinkable happened.... When the baby moved during contraction I feel terrible pain as if the baby was rubbing against my previous CS scar. The metron quickly aborted the delivery process and transfered me to the theater for Emergency CS to avoid Uterine Rapture. The surgeon was about an hour late but eventually baby was born at exactly a week before my scheduled CS weighing 2.7. Stayed at the hospital for 4 days, baby had jaundice. She was under the light for a day, it reduced but because of the Pain I was going through I pleaded to be discharged, thankfully they agreed.... In fact the metron gave us the pawpaw recipe and also prescribed a drug..... We have been taking these... And we have seen changes, her eyes isn't yellow anymore, her skin not yellow and she poos often..... Another jaundice test we did yesterday came back with a significant reduced number so we are jaundice free.

I am hereby cutting my boot into pieces and distributing it to all families waiting for such blessings. My August Cappo bamberry (lol) and teamies, I love you all. I had a wonderful August with you guys. Safe and healthy delivery to everyone.

Cool
Good thing your baby's doing fine, some spotting is normal in the early weeks. Your fellow March mamas are still hiding..maybe its MS dealing with them sha so you don't have a team captain yet.
Some mamas register both in private and general hospitals as back up..you can consider that too.

Morning sickness not funny at all. Been to lazy to type all this while. Team March. I have not started anything. Only thing have been able to do is vomit and spit at intervals. Waiting for 3month before I have strength for anything.

With bed rest the risk of excessive weight gain is high making women on bed rest more prone to gestational diabetes.
Ways to go about it is to get involved with minimal physical activities by moving what you can of your body, stretching what you can with the permission of your provider, ensure you are well hydrated, monitor what you eat and stay comfortable .

Hope this helps
Thank you so much ma.

Good evening great mothers in the house.
Pls kindly recommend me a very good diaper.
I am a FTM.

God bless u as u respond.

Hi mama, there are several diapers in the mkt and I plan on going for huggies but you see that babies are different so are their skin. What works for my kid might not work for yours. The best is to try and find out the one that is good for your baby.
Some people buy little qty of different types of diapers then chose the one that's best for the baby.
That's my humble input

It's not all the time sef.
Sometimes these online vendors also have a physical shop and sell the items for the same price.
I know for certain that some of the items I ship in, I sell it for exact amount it is sold for in Idumota.
For example this hooded blanket is same price in the Idumota.
Some online vendors sabi do overdo but not all, this is where your assignment lies. Finding a vendor that sells quality items for good price
wink

And yes, it is wayyyyy more convenient.
If you can afford it, please remove that stress from your life.
Imagine being pregnant and working in a 9-6 and doing one course on weekends, where is the time and energy to go combing idumota

Nice to hear dear, so do you have a physical shop? I'm in lagos

If you are being sick, just buy the regular folic acid. Its tiny and you can swallow it even without water. Your baby urgently needs that now..you can leave pregnacare for later

Thanks, it was 138/96 last saturday, the doctor said we should be watchful, but its still ok, my first pregnancy i was on 190/ 120 or so, I just hrd the doctor exclaim so loudly and request for immediate admission, with 2 big vial of magsuf injected instantly, was glad I strolled in to complain about my 3 days old toothache that year, only God knows what would have happened to me.

Pls what can I do about this thing protruding from my anus, it's painful to sit on my but, no bleeding from the anus sha, other mama that have experienced this should also put mouth o, we are 29wks.
Eyya sorry for the pain ma'am, same as mine but have been doing sit bath with salt ,drink lots of water, more fruits most especially apple and cucumber and vegetables to ease the bowel, my doc refuse to give me any drug since it is pregnancy induced.las Las we will be alright. May God see us through

Congrats mama...We thank God for recovery..Kisses to our adorable princess

We dey here together o team March. Am eating o it's just that the food I love before I detest them now it's only rice and stew with amala have been eating all this while. I don't even know if it's healthy cos it's carbohydrate but that's the only thing I can eat for now. Although I crave for chilled soft drinks but am not taking it cos some people said it's not good. Ms is dealing with me a little bit nicely this week unlike before

Hello mamas I need your help. I registered for antenatal today and both my blood test and urine test was carried out but my urine came out as protein+++ my bp was 135/65 the doctor wasn’t convinced about my bp and asked I should recheck which still came out as 135/65..she asked if I urinate frequently at night I told her I don’t urinate at time, she also asked if I feel pains when peeing I told her no she said the protein in my urine is very high and I will be needing more tests which I did but the results will be out on Tuesday. I was so worried, panicked aand quickly went for a scan. The lady there didn’t even help matters by saying my baby is folding itself without telling me why. Pls mama help me interpret the scan results I won’t be seeing my doctor till Tuesday.

So sorry for the many typos I’ve been crying since I came back from the hospital I feel so weak and dizzy embarassed
