So Nollywood created something spectacular like this and nobody here said anything about it all these years?

I like how the identity of the culprit wasn't concealed to the audience but we were made to take a ride along as they build up evidence to nail him.

Superb acting from each and every one of the cast.

Is it the movie where the Oba's son is a serial killer?

Movies that take place in colonial times, take more effort to make than epic or mordern day movies.

I just wish Nollywood will make more movies that take place in the 50's - 80's

Joker (2019; Hollywood)

Only two sets of people will hate on this masterpiece:

1. Those that hate for the sake of it and;
2. Those who have difficulty in understanding beautiful art

It was worth all the accolades and, contrary to what some say, it was very engaging and far from being boring.

People that say that joker is boring, do not really understand film as an art.

This is a very reductive way of reviewing a movie- you either like it or you're too stupid to like it.

I wish I could find the review I wrote about this movie on this thread, but e don wey I post am.

I can understand the position of someone who isn't too fond of this movie.

Yes, the acting in the movie is powerful but there are some issue I take with the movie like:

The movie is too long and I think the first and second act go on forever.
The movie doesn't have enough joker in it. He just shows up at the very tail end of the movie.
And also, some fans are wondering where this joker fits into the DCEU. is he supposed to be a replacement for Jared Leto? Why is he so old and Batman so young? Are we supposed to believe that this thoroughly unchacharismatic individual will ever become the joker we know from the movies and comics? Are we supposed to believe that this already old man will pose a problem to Batman when he grows up?

There are other issues someone may take with this movie, these are just the few I can remember now.

So your problems with the movie are because of questions that were answered during it's promotion but for some reason, you totally missed?

The Joker is not set in the DCEU
It’s an origin story so you can’t expect to find much Joker in it

American Gangster (2007) 8/10

Watching this movie now, you'll be thinking the cast is stacked, until you remember most of the familiar faces weren't even B-listers as at 2007.
A fictionalized tale of Frank Lucas, driver, bodyguard and collector for Bumpy Johnson who sets out to conquer the heroin market in the late 60s to early 70s, profiteering off the Vietnam War.
Densely excels effortlessly along with Russell Crowe and the supporting cast aren't no slouches either.
Whenever a movie passes 2 hours, my biggest concern is about the pacing. American Gangster's near-3 hours breezed by me because of the engaging storytelling and great pacing.

Public Enemies (2009) 8/10

For a movie titled Public Enemies, they ended up focusing too much on Dillinger. Should have just been titled after him, instead of masquerading as an adaptation of the book, especially since it's accounts veer from historical accuracy almost to the point of fiction.
But the movie's own story is still a great one and the cast absolutely delivered. The dialogue is gripping and engaging and the shootouts will have your heart pumping. Loved the soundtracks too.

It shows that you are not knowledgeable about simple facts about the movie.

1. It is an origin story. Therefore, it would be about the joker before he became the joker. I dont know how you expect to see much of the joker in an origin story

2. This joker is not meant to fit in the DCEU. Period.

3. The movie is too long? 122 minutes for a such dramatic piece is very normal.

4. This is an alternate joker story. In this one, it is hinted that batman is hos brother. That the joker is far older than him is inconsequential as it does not tie in with other batman movies. Note that this joker did not fall into a vat of acid.

You somehow managed to be completely wrong on all your points about the joker movie.

You seem to be one of those people who don't bother to read further on things they dont understand.

You remind me of one madam that will die defending her ignorant positions.

What we need is investment in Nollywood and action/horror movies from the same Nollywood.

Is it only drama we can act?

I think you are talking about Koicereloaded or it might be DandeNumeruno... I might be wrong either way but this brings me back to the old days when I was still using my sasquatch moniker. I was a teenager then and koice made me feel welcome, guided me and made me know I wasn't weird with my movie choices. Miss you man
