Why Is Everyone Advising Everyone To Run From Nigeria? by chrisxxx(m): 9:43am On Aug 23, 2020
On the lips if every average Nigerian you speak to these days is the ubiquitous advice of escaping from Nigeria.
Does it mean there is no hope for Nigeria?
I am becoming scared. Almost all my friends are in the finishing stages of leaving Nigeria. This is becoming uncomfortable to me.
I had never been scared like this.
The latest call to leave came from my friend in Canada. He said he had apartment for me to stay free of charge and if I like what I see I could then plan with my family for relocation.
I so much believe in this country and don't want to leave. I am optimistic that things would be reengineered around for good.

There's still hope for this country trust me...We all need to be optimistic and envisage that things will turn out better in no distance time.

how will Nigeria change when only APC and PDP have the might to win and fund elections. In 2023 it will be either tinubu or el rufai, primaries are won with who get the most dollars or sponsors. Your so called leader too gave birth to all their kids abroad for citizenship as they know 9ja is hopeless. Oil is getting useless by the day how 9ja wan survive. Just look at edo, politicians changing party like pant. Last election sowore and other activists no get up to 40k voted. There is no hope in Nigeria bro

If they're sending money home for school and businesses, can you call it escaping? They're just taking advantage of opportunities abroad.

grin golden oppotunity if only u know hw much i want to leave this country u will nt be contemplating.Am sorry bt the hope in nigeria is too small for many people to be fighting for our leaders are out for them selves only and come and tell u otherwise on tv, whenever i see any of them talking it as if i should stone then from the tv.If a family memeber should call from canada and tell me this, i will nt even think anything twice, am even praying they do. Although am still a student in my final year am already exploring all the means available to leave this country(scholarships, fellowship, internship up to the extent of learning new languages)soonest after my youth service. My parent nw look at me like this boy is really serious abt leaving oooo. So op some people will do anything to get this oppotunity you have dont waist it.I cant even imagine raising my kids in this country.

We are only existing and not living. There is no hope in sight.

Politicians will tell us what we want to hear in the next election and nothing will change.

We are so comfortable with mediocrity and anyhowness.

Leave if you can.

Re: Why Is Everyone Advising Everyone To Run From Nigeria? by Kenn55: 9:44pm On Aug 28, 2020
@Op, i don't know how old you are. If you are old enough, look back at Nigeria in 2000, look at Nigeria in 2010, Look at Nigeria today then with that pattern, see how Nigeria will be in 2030 etc. That lies your answer.

For people who come from shitholes like Nigeria, having a second citizenship or permanent residence in a sane country is never a bad investment. It is very risky to have Nigeria as your only country. Even your politicians and your big men know this. Their children all have options

Immigration is getting tougher now. If you have what it takes to migrate legally, do it now because in the years to come it is going to be worse. I know someone who had all it takes to legally migrate in 2015 but was carried away with 500k salary, he is regretting it now. If he needed 3m then to make the move then, he now needs 6m to make the same move now. Naira is losing value. Sadly, The value of 500k of today is like 250k of 5 years ago. So if you were earning say 250k 5 years ago and you are earning 500k today, you are still almost at the same spot.

However, i must warn that if you do not have what it take to make a legitimate immigration move, it is better to stay in Nigeria. In fact, in this case, Nigeria would be better than abroad. Don't go with visit visa and expect to maneuver your way, sorry will be your name and you go suffer tire and you will regret it. I don't support this craze of traveling by all means getting more prevalent in Nigeria now. I understand the country is getting worse but it is still better for people who can't migrate legally to remain in Nigeria than getting themselves into a bigger mess abroad. Btw, by abroad, i mean first world countries because no be all abroad na abroad.

if i have a chance to relocate i will not because of me anymore, but because of the future of my KIDS.

our parents av done what they could and they couldnt change Nigeria.

alot of people relocate for different reasons such as security, standard of living etc etc

The Nigerian Govt have refused to integrated there so called "lazy nigerian Youth" into the helms of affairs, no youth will see support into any public offices they will rather rig the process.

Any Youth that do not believe anymore in Nigeria let him/her relocate legally and represent us well anywhere they find themselves.

Your friend told you he has an apartment for you to stay free of charge? Never you hope on that make your friend no fall your hands.

My igbo people say "what is said on the way to watch masquerades, isn't what is said on the way back."

Na when you enter Canada you'll understand.

But their's always opportunities for survival.

Prepare yourself before you travel.

Though, if your brain has a viable seed, you need a good soil to plant it, water it, nourish it until it bears fruits.

Nigeria's economy isn't fertile, lack the prerequisites for people like us.

We encourage people to leave Nigeria because we have seen a working system elsewhere.

But to make it in Nigeria you need to work your shoes out. Or have connections. You must be ready to be a political thief.

But put in half of what you have put in Nigeria in any of the European or America and the America's you'll see a whooping difference.

So if we say leave Nigeria we hope you make it, come home and invest.

Kudos
