Who told you it hasn't been reducing?
What was the GDP of Nigeria as at when dollar was 120?
What's the GDP now?
Hasn't it increased upon the fact that naira weakened?
This should tell you productivity increased and more of these imported items were starting to get produced here.
Now imagine what will happen if naira is devalued to 400 range and the confidence it will give investors.
Go out and do real work and stop reading online journals,I've told you this many times.
Its for your own good bros.

Of course they won't.
But you see the CCP as a disadvantage to China.
I don't think it is.
So-called democracy is not necessarily better than the Chinese system from the standpoint of economic achievement.
Anyway, the CCP is now "communist" in name only - it's economic theory and actions are all socialistic.

Its actually communist in the real sense of the world

Those covert communist policies are what ie putting their multinationals in trouble abroad

Hauwei and now Byteryte or so (Tik Tok)

Assuming the CCP did not have those draconian laws in place
Chinese multinationals would flourish more with less push back abroad
But when you have policies that state that a chinese company is an extension of the state and MUST DO as the Government says

Other countries will be apprehensive

Why would I allow you to gather data within my territory
When the Chinese govt can strong arm you (you have no choice btw) into giving it all up

CEOs in china (well some ot them) spoke against it

And were immediately forced by the govt to apologise

You think this is how to build a developed country?

If you want to test how inefficient democracy is in this our ITK clime, use your whatsapp group and ask for opinions on how much contribution each member should make for say an orphanage, I can almost assure you that for 3 weeks you will still be on that discussion without a headway. But let the admin of the whatsapp group say, we are making a donation we have identified xyz orhphanage and have put a baseline of 1k for each person. Pay more if you can, pay less if you can't. There will be less argument in such situation. All over the world, the millitary is the most efficient organization in the world because of the order of hierarchy.

Yes, I do think it is one way of doing so.
Rather than wallowing in apathy and anomie as Nigeria is doing.

@All the great minds here doing wonderful contribution it is disheartening that First Bank of Nigeria plc don,'t pay me any interest in my savings account. as I have just confirmed today.
Because of the low interest in Tbill, I just idled my fund in my savings account. for more than 4months now the balance always remain the same.
other Banks like GTBANK and Unionbank pays theirs religiously.
First Bank why? even when I don't do any withdrawal on the account.
I decided to confirm my suspicions this August by not doing anything on that account even checking of balance, but only deposits more money
As at this morning my balance remain the same.
anyone who know how I can chat them up directly online, should pls let me know as those their staff at the branches will just ignore me as I have tried to complain about it sometime ago without any result

Go to the branch and request you see the manager. Insist even if they are trying not to allow you see him/her.
But be sure with the new policy from CBN, it could be worse as per interest.
Hence we have cried aloud here. Invest in VGIF at 7.5% you will be happier.

how come it hasn't stoped naira moving from 120 to 475 ? What guarantees it will stop at 800 naira ? Or is based on what the world bank have been telling us since 1987 ...how many firm have spring up due to devaluation and costly dollars ...

Don't mind them, I'm secretly hoping Naira devalues to 2000.

The same people asking for it now will suffer the most and the imports will continue, the lack of capacity will remain.

If you can't build competitive industries at 450 , what is the guarantee it can be done at 1000.

Ordinary grocery malls is dominated by south Africa.

I also did not receive any interest on my s/c. This month from first bank and gtbank due to cbn confused policy changes.

To whom it may concern

Listen and listen carefully, foreign investors cannot and will never invest in Nigeria real sector without stable power supply, good road network, good security and etc.

If ya'll like cut all portfolio investment rates to 0.1% and keep inflation rising life continues...

First bank is always late to credit interest, sure they will credit interest for the month of August, the new cbn policy start from the 1st of September.

thanks

Apparently he is not online. The way some of us did it was to use the link in his signature, fill the form, submit your KYC document and viola you get assigned an account officer after a few days with your account opened.

my bros @ojesymsym thank you jare you don try. Actually it's because @Grupo said he wanted independent person, so that it will not be like I'm blowing my own trumpet. Thank you all the same.

@Grupo and others VGIF is a mutual fund on the fixed income category. The uniqueness is that the interest is not daily valued but bench marked with sdf of the cbn which is currently at 7.5%.
interest is prorated and earned daily but paid or reinvested on 1st July or 1st January. you can contact me 08181057319 I have some voice notes I can send to you for details or you can give me your email to send same..

It was exploited by a lot of people. They made arrangements with some shady universities overseas. Use the invoice to source USD from the CBN. Pay tuition for a number of ghost students. Once the money hits the overseas account of the university, re-channel the money back to Nigeria and sell at the black market rate. Rinse and repeat a couple of times and you are a millionaire already. I read the story here on Nairaland by a very popular nairalander who executed this scheme for many months.

Oh ok. I guess it will be July you started otherwise if it was June the interest for the number of days to June 30th will be paid on July 1st. But since you started after July 1st you will be paid on January first. The way it works is that anytime an investor starts, the interest is prorated for the number of days the fund remains in the VGIF account. For example if an investor starts today the interest prorated for Sept 2nd to December 31st will be paid January 1st.
