@mabeni Budgeting a whopping 55k for a tokumbo sound system is not a wise thought. That amount will get you a brand new home theater with peace of mind considering all the stress and humiliation you went through. Spending such amount for an item that was probably thrown off by the first user maybe due to some faults you know not is waste of fund. Next time, get a brand new item within your budget that would come with a warranty without stress from certified electronic shops. Tokumbo electronics are a waste of funds most times. 2 Likes |

donproject:Upon the warnings that scam knows no tribe, you are hell bent on blacklisting the Ibos. Do I tell you my encounter in Computer Village in 2016. Where in broad day light and on two different occasions, I was scammed by Yoruba guys. I have noticed something about some of you Yoruba’s here. Not all, but minority among you people. Why do you guys like labelling others bad. You hardly see Ibo people tainting you people the way you do them. If people begin to give account of their bad experiences with scammers from your tribe, many of you won’t like it. Scam know no tribe, as a matter of fact it is a Nigerian syndrome that has eaten deep into our fabrics. The first time I was scam was when I went to buy a Laptop in Computer village. Despite the warnings not to patronize those without shops, I foolishly bargained with one dude they call Taiwo. I paid him cash and he gave me receipt for a used I Core 3. It was when I got home that I began dancing to the music. I tried switching on the Laptop on, kole work. To the extent of running back to Computer village the next day to complain to the guy. You’re even lucky that you can complain to taskforce in Alaba. In my own case, the Taiwo denied ever meeting me, neither selling any item to me. The other of his colleagues supported him and that was how the case ended. I even had to take the Laptop to a repairer within that axis to repair, but lo and behold, when he opened the Lapi, it was filled with loosed wires and dead panel. Is it the second time again in 2017, same Computer village. Oga take time o. Everyone have had bad experience with scammers irrespective of tribe. Stop that holier than thou attitude you dey display here. 6 Likes 1 Share |

mabeni: You did nothing wrong, however in future don't buy anything from informal traders especially alaba market. Majority of those shopowners are crooks and scammers. Buy your electronic products from authorise reseller, it might be expensive but you will have peace of mind and warranty. 2 Likes |

ALABACONNECT:This clearly shows you're also running the same scam.what is greed there! If a buyer bargain for a certain stuff, and the seller is not okay with the pricing,he can just turn down the price and tell the buyer to try next shop, not to scam him.You guys(alaba boys) have been running this scam for a long time. In 2012,I dashed my home theater out, then proceeded to Alaba market to buy another set.The guys tested it for me,we agreed on a price, and the gen was switched off.A receipt was written for me,I signed and paid.Told them to wrap it for me,..lo and behold...I was told that I bought woofer only!. Then the arguments started,I was told to read my receipt,WOOFER only was what was written on the receipt.WTF. I told them to return my money that I'm not buying again,(for where).I even told them that I will pay 1k for the receipt,(no way).I had to settle with a small home theater system. 4 Likes |

Sorry for your experience, I work at Alaba and I ve been scammed twice at the same Alaba by someone I never expected. Please whenever you're buying these things always go to the company direct and try as much to avoid fairly use. I know some very good new Home theatre than can go for 25k or less. Going for Samsung or LG is very risky because we have fake all around. Just go to the approved dealers or the company's sales outlet. |

Isn't it funny that other criminals alike are blaming the Op and accusing him of being greedy ? This is what happens when certain people see criminality as normal or legitimate means of livelihood. I won't blame any Igbo person for committing crimes like this one after all, we should have known by now that it is their normal way of life. They see it as being smart ! How would you blame people that want out of Nigeria but looks like they are being forced to remain Nigerians. It can only be sensible if Igbo people, who seem to have criminality well embedded in their DNA,are allowed to have their own country. They won't change from their 'normal' way of life. They are the ones soiling Nigerians reputation in South Africa,Ghana,Malaysia,India,Indonesia, U S,UK,in fact everywhere ! Igbo are security threat in Nigeria, the earlier the government realises it,the better ! Give them Biafra ! @Op, I find it quite appalling that you want to let this crime slide just like that ? Well a gentleman like you, what would you do ? I truly understand. This is why it sometimes pains me that stuff like this happens to people like you. I have,on several occasions, gone round Alaba,Ladipo and computer village just to have a first hand experience of what these people do to unsuspecting Nigerians on a daily basis but it has not happened to me yet. I guess some of them suspected that I was snooping around for trouble so they often acted like decent and honest business men whenever I showed up at their shop to make a "purchase". Igbo traders in Lagos will soon have a serious problem if they refuse to change from their criminal ways ! I hope someone is listening. 5 Likes |
