Thanks for your reply,

Does that mean room and board should be -$10000

Others can be - $3000

Also funds available for my stay is it the total (tuition + room and board+ other) or funds available in my account statement.

BlegendE:
One year. I made the mistake in my first application. Please use one year. So that the required sum won't be much

Yes you can order for GcMs note if you’re curious and want to know more on your application and where you stand.

A google search on GcMs note should give you some information on how to get it and how much it would cost.

Good morning house.
I started my application yesterday and received biometrics request this morning. I have to travel to Abuja to get it done. Is it advisable to do upfront medicals so I won't have to travel again when they request medical exam.

You guys procedure seem different. You don’t do medicals in our country unless instructed to do. Again, if you are told to do médicals, 95% you get the visa. It’s 430CAD so you can’t just do.
What you are required to do is Biometrics.

$430 for medicals? shocked shocked shocked. Haba na. That's over N120,000. Is it IOM that charges that amount or what? That's serious.

I think judicial review will be the beat for her although I had a different case which led me to judicial review and it was decided in my favour.

same here. I applied without my kids. I am being positive.

Hopefully, I will get the AIP.

librangyps:

How will she even know what to correct in her reapplication?

I think the grammar in her SOP matters. Like how will her certificate serve her community or country upon her return...

I also applied without my kids and if I get such refusal notes. I will raise more funds and re-apply with my children.

@Godblesmyhustle

This is funny but I think you're right because her SOP is not that bad. Please, how can she request for the judicial review? Thanks!

Godblesmyhustle:
In my opinion, this application is a good candidate for judicial review because it appears that the VO has introduced a personal bias.

The applicant must have met all the criteria but the VO probably picked a line in her SOP and felt jealous. Am sure she even switched off afterwards.

Let gurus here also comment.

@frankrobbn1 @Lekiboboe @rebeccausoro @Osemigho @JustMellow

A friend's study permit application has been denied unofficially. Her first application was refused in 2019 because the proposed 2 years diploma program (Database Administration) "is available for less online or in closer geographical location." She upgraded to Graduate Diploma and reapplied on May 29, 2020.

St. Lawrence College, Business Analytics, Fall 2020
Paid 1st semester tuition: $12,582.70 (CAD)
Application Status: Eligibility review ongoing
NO AIP or MER
Age: 31
Works as Manager in Hubby's company
Monthly salary is N325k
Personal account balance is N10m plus
Self-sponsored but Hubby is also supporting
Hubby's account has N12m plus and earns N600k monthly
GCMS Note received today shows: REFUSED

Her husband wants me to help them review the LOE but I am not qualified to do that. Please, can the gurus help us point out what is "self-serving" in the statement? Thanks!

Hello Daalade1,

I think the VO's discretion was enmeshed with too much emotional fact(s) in reaching a decision.

The VO pointed to the SOP. If for sure every areas was was covered by the letter without any contradictions of whatsoever, I will say this is a case more likely to be successful if it goes to Judicial Review especially if the resources is available.

Another option is to re-work on the SOP and refile.

All the best.

Hello JustMellow,
Please whats the process of requesting for the GCMS note?

Hello Dameelee,

One of the rule here goes against posting third party websites or link. You can go about 5 - 10 pages back, some people posted some sites or put GcMS notes on google and it will pop out.

All the best
