IgbereTV reports that the Anambra State Ministry of Women and Children Affairs, in line with the directive by the Governor of Anambra State His Excellency, Chief Willie Obiano, has on Thursday, 3rd September, 2020, cleared some areas at Nkpor Express of mentally challenged persons roaming and causing nuisance for customers and businesses at the busy express.

The raid was occasioned following a call by a concerned citizen to the Honorable Commissioner for Women and Children Affairs, Lady Ndidi Mezue, who immediately dispatched a team of social workers who professionally and cautiously removed two mentally challenged individuals from Nkpor under bridge and Onira Garden Onitsha.

Consequently, the men, after a very tough rescue effort were relocated to Nteje Home for the mentally challenged for rehabilitation and reintegration back to the society.

This is nice, if only they can take it as a project in all the States.
It's heartbreaking to see these mentally unstable people on the road, they are always exposed to ritualists and rapist.

Anambra State government should Park them and dump at Aso Rock.
In sane countries, Government provide good healthcare, food and shelter to these mentally unstable citizens.
Most of them are not completely mad. They need medical care.

It's commendable. I was beginning to wonder about the increasing number of mad people on the streets. I began to ask if there was a correlation between hunger and madness.
It's well.
If only they could get the ones who dress well and live in completed houses with no one suspecting their mental state. Some even occupy leadership positions.
The truth? Many are mad, but few are roaming.

We may not see it as odd but Nigeria is s country where insane people roam the street and people see it as normal stuff. .

A man is walking in front of you and suddenly he veers to the side of the road and brings out his Kalashnikov and start urinating in full glare of everyone.

A woman will just lift up wrapper or skirt and take a leak in the open ( na u go come shame troway face sef).

I wonder what foreigners think of us sef.

We are all mad in this nation

Okay...

It's a nice move, not because the mentally challenged aren't part of the society but because the street isn't a place for curing them.

They require Max care from the state and gov. Obiano has taken a step. Let's hope they recover.

Why is nairaland promoting terrorism?

3. Don't threaten, support or DEFEND violent acts
against any person, tribe, race, animals, or group (e.g.
rape).

The above is rule no 3

But a topic on apostasy is on the front-page stating that those guilty of apostasy should be killed by Muslims.

Nice one from Anambra Government.

I always say and I'll continue saying it that, HISTORY WILL NEVER FORGET THAT UNSUNG HERO, Ogbeni Abdu-r-rauf Adesoji Aregbesola. Behold, Anambra Government also copied from one of your achievements today. The school feeding program copied throughout the federation isn't an exception. You're indeed a Trail Blazer. B'eyan ba seere, eje a ki, k'a yin.
