Signs are manifestations of Gods powers through his ministers which reveals God's presence and power. These works are to testify to the name of Jesus by which men will have faith to believe and accept Christ

They are not the end themselves but signpost. Sometimes If someone receives a miracle by signs and the person does not accept Christ the ailment may come back. The individual need personal faith in God and relationship with Christ . Even though Signs and wonders are not limited to healing . It can very anything supernatural.

2 Corinthians 12:12
Truly the signs of an apostle were wrought among you in all patience, in signs, and wonders, and mighty deeds

They are both miraculous works!

SIGN has been foretold to serve for a purpose to distinguishing between times and seasons.

WONDER is miracles that came as a result of God's presence.

For instance, there were signs foretold would mark the presence of the Messiah (Christ) in the land of Judah.
He will be born of a virgin, another prophet will serve as his forerunner, he will preach, teach, comfort, care and set matters straight regarding the law, he will perform great miracles like Moses. So when all the people noticed these signs (even though some people couldn't correlate all) they began discerning that Jesus has performed enough SIGNS to prove himself as the promised Messiah (Christ) John 10:41-42

There was also a composite SIGN to help the Israelites realize the times and seasons of God's visitation to Israel during the last of Judah's glory!
Prophet Joel foretold "God will pour his spirit on all sort of flesh and they will see visions and have dreams" So immediately when God's holy spirit was poured out on 120 Christians at Pentecost Peter seized the opportunity to alert his people of this SIGN that God's visitation is what they're experiencing, Jesus' followers has been favoured both in heaven and on earth! Act 2:16-18

But WONDERS are miraculous works that's not specified in prophecies foretold!
There were miracles Jesus performed out of pity just as his own followers also did but such weren't specified in the prophecies!
So such works were regarded as WONDERS.

The difference there is WONDERS could happen in virtually any Religion but SIGNS only belong to worshipers of the true God to alert them of times and seasons, for instance Jesus foretold of a time when false prophets will abound and perform great signs in his name! Matthew 7:21-23

Of course only worshipers of God could discern that such signs are marking a period in the history of mankind! Revelations 16:14

God bless you!

Miracles are supernatural occurrences that defy natural laws. For example, a woman with no womb giving birth. Other examples are raising the dead , turning water to wine, feeding the multitude with five loaves and two fishes, opening the eyes of the blind, and walking on water.

Wonders are simply the impressions that the miracles leave on people. They are strange occurrences that cause the beholder to marvel. In the Bible, wonders are manifested in divine operations. You can say that miracles and wonders are synonymous.

While a wonder appeals to the imagination, a sign is intended to appeal to the understanding.

Signs are the underlying messages or behind every miracle. Signs are indicators. In other words, signs are what or who the miracles point to. In the Bible, there are signs behind every miracles that Jesus performed. For example, when He fed the multitude, He was teaching them that He was the bread that came down from heaven.

“And when they found Him on the other side of the sea, they said to Him, “Rabbi, when did You come here?” Jesus answered them and said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, you seek Me, not because you saw the signs, but because you ate of the loaves and were filled. Do not labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set His seal on Him.””
‭‭John‬ ‭6:25-27‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

The miracle was that they ate of the loaves and were filled, but they failed to see the signs that He was the Messiah that would fill the longing of the soul. However, their eyes were fixated on the miracles rather than the signs.

Also, there was a vital sign in Jesus turning water to wine.

“Now there were set there six waterpots of stone, according to the manner of purification of the Jews, containing twenty or thirty gallons apiece. Jesus said to them, “Fill the waterpots with water.” And they filled them up to the brim.”
‭‭John‬ ‭2:6-7‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

In the foregoing, Jesus didn’t turn a regular or ordinary water to wine. He turned water meant for purification to water. This information is of critical importance. The jews believed washing with water would purify them from their sins. Jesus turned this same water to wine. The wine represents His blood.

There’s another miracle in the 9th chapter of St. John gospel.

“And He said to him, “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam” (which is translated, Sent). So he went and washed, and came back seeing.”
‭‭John‬ ‭9:7‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

A man born blind received his sight. This is a miracle.

What about the sign?

Ever wondered why Jesus instructed the blind man to go wash himself in the pool of Siloam, even though there were other pools in the city.

Siloam means sent.

Who’s the sent?

Jesus!

He that washes himself in the sent(Jesus) is made whole. This is the sign.
