If Only The West Listened To Igbos by manuelreports: 1:11pm On Sep 05, 2020 |
Prior to 2015 Election Igbos displayed their disdain for emrgence of Buhari as the president perhaps because they know very well that the man does not have anything to offer but misery and impoverishment of the populace so they spoke through their votes. The West and the so call aclaimed sophiticated and educated people chosed an Illiterate, a School drop out and a an uninspiring man as the their Candidate and they qued behind him all because of their selfishness of having their son as the Vice president and getting a presidential slot in 2023. Today Buhari is in power and he has been rolling out all kinds of anti people's policies and our brothers from the West coast us to join them to protest. Who does that, my joy is that everybody is feeling the heat. I hope Tinubu will be able to feed all of you by the time hyper inflation starts hitting the Land. 10 Likes 1 Share |

Well, if the West voted for PDP in 2015 , they might have won again, however the 2015 and 19 elections in the west were close. Also, it is a myth that PDP lost 2015 because of the West. PDP lost states like Nassarawa, Benue and Kwara and even had a narrow win in Plateau because of internal party divisions there and also because in places like Benue, the vote was about their outgoing governor In fact if PDP had won Benue, PDP won't have needed to win the West. And if PDP had won the middle belt like they did in all elections up till 2011, Western votes won't have mattered. Plus if PDP had won, our economy won't have been better. Not when Okonjo iweala was saying in January 2015 that due to low oil prices, whoever won would face a bad economy. This does not excuse Buhari, who could have done certain things to get is out of that hard economy, but didn't. And to be fair PDP had no ideas either. 4 Likes |

Only you have forgotten so soon how some Igbo and some south south around President Jonathan pitted him against the Yorubas his southern brothers regardless of their contributions to his emergency in 2011.You have forgotten that politics is about interest. 1 Like |

In fact a big mistake PDP made was not paying attention to the Middle belt in 2015. Had they paid more attention and sorted out divisions, especially in Nassarawa and Benue, and placated chaps like Saraki, GEJ would have left office last year. PDP mistake in 2015 is similar to the Democratic party in the US mistake in 2016, when the latter failed to pay attention to five to six vital us states, and lost. |

In the same vain, shouldn't the east have listened to the Yorubas and form a government with the West instead of the North in 1959? Shouldn't the igbos have listened to the Yorubas and formed an alliance with UPN instead of throwing their support behind Shagari led NPN in 1979? Should the Igbos have listened to the Yorubas and supported the Yoruba candidate - Olu Falae instead of supporting the northern candidate of General Obasanjo in 1999? First time Yorubas are supporting a northern candidate in the history of Nigeria, and you guys are complaining. I am sure you guys will support another northern candidate come 2023. 9 Likes 1 Share |
