Hello house, denying the fact that I have an aunty in the UK despite the fact that I don't know her current surname(because she's married), address and I don't have the intention of contacting her when I get to the UK pose a problem with my application. Also as a married man with two kids going for tourism alone. Hope it's not a threat to my application. Though I earn 320 after tax, monthly expenses btw 35-45k. I have 275k at my disposal and I have the intention of spending £987 for a 10days visit, which is not upto two months of my DI. Also have landed properties in my name and wife. Traveled to UAE with the family in January for vacation. Just want to know if I am good to go. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Brightingsus: 12:24pm On Sep 06, 2020 |
Boyebusayo: No. The earliest you can apply is 3 months before your proposed departure. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Nchabuomo: 1:15pm On Sep 06, 2020 |
Boyebusayo: No you can't. I think the rule of thumb is no earlier than 3 months to your travel date, but I could be wrong. That said, I have had instances where I didn't travel on the date I initially intended to travel and I didn't encounter any issues travelling on a later date with the same visa. P.S your Visa begins to count on the date it was issued, so unless you intend applying for a 2yr + Visa, it makes no sense applying in October for a possible March trip. 2 Likes |

famzynet:You mean people that are still about to travel yeah? Well I flew Turkish early this year. It's very cool but their food won't be enticing to you as a Nigerian.. That was my only regret. Onboard entertainment, transit and the flight in general was very smooth .. I'll recommend it if you mind the food.. 1 Like |

Good Day House, please I have an Uncle in London who is a Veterinary Doctor, and he has a house over there, I wanted to go for a visit, do I need to provide statement of account, I'm a 300L student, or once he sponsor everything I don't need statement of account? I have a house already in my name given to me by my dad, and I have some money in my account also but I don't receive salary. NB: I WANT TO KNOW IF HE IS TO TAKE CARE OF EVERYTHING, IF I STILL NEED TO PROVIDE STATEMENT OF ACCOUNT THEN Thanks |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Nchabuomo: 2:36am On Sep 07, 2020 |
Junera: No you don't have to. It would be good to show that you have some money of your own that is accessible to you but its not a requirement. If he is your full sponsor all you need is your passport and he will provide the rest of the required documents. |

Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Monmarri: 3:16am On Sep 07, 2020 |
Junera: If it is your uncle that is sponsoring every thing he needs to provide his own statement of account, it is from the SOA that ECO sees if he is capable of sporsoring u. In the application form questions are asked who is paying for your trip, flight ticket etc. The eco will not be satisfied on your financial circumstances. I will advise that your uncle sponsor your trip since you are still a student. The only supporting document u can include is your admission letter, student ID, letter from HOD as proof of 300 level student. You can also show the proof of the house, it serves as ties. U have to explain in the cover letter that the house was transferred in your name , show evidence. You don't really need your SOA if your uncle is sponsoring every thing. |

chuksdewigs: Thanks for your reply. I have used them previously and the experience is exactly as you stated. The meal is not what any African desires. Actually,I wanted to know if people who used Turkish airline since 5th September were asked for covid certificate. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by giselle237: 8:24am On Sep 07, 2020 |
Ibyfaith:This question would be best answered by those who have successfully been issued a visitor visa from August 2020 and beyond. I hope they answer you as to whether they included 14 days isolation period or not. |

Elevation77:If you have pressed submit then you would need to pay for assisted service at the VAC. Hold the almost 12k in your atm card |

famzynet: Turkish Airlines does not require a Covid certificate, according to their website. https://www.turkishairlines.com/en-int/announcements/coronavirus-outbreak/what-you-should-know-during-the-pandemic/ |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by giselle237: 8:30am On Sep 07, 2020 |
Junera:Even if you would be fully sponsored, they would want to see a statement of account belonging to you to have an idea of your own personal circumstances. Even if it’s 10k account balance they would want to access your banking history from a general point of view. |

giselle237: Thank u @giselle237, will they need my UK application username and password to be able to upload at VAC centre ? |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Cyberknight: 8:35am On Sep 07, 2020 |
Ibyfaith: If you're traveling to the UK for less than 14 days, you will have to self-isolate for the whole of your stay. So you will have to plan a 22 day trip in your case. Remember you will have to justify that length of time as always (work commitments, possible leave duration, accommodation costs, etc.) |
