Small retail pharmacies make between 50k and 200k daily sales. That is 1.5 m to 6.0m monthly. Big retail pharmacies make between 200k and more than 1 million daily sales. You can calculate how much they make monthly. And there are super big pharmacies that make up to 50million sales daily or more. You cannot compare any health profession, least of all nursing, to pharmacy when it comes to the business prospects. If you are a pharmacist, you have no business traveling abroad. There is too much money to make in the business side of the profession in Nigeria. For a population of about 210 million people we have less than twenty thousand pharmacists actively practicing in Nigeria, and less than 50% of that number is involved in community practice. All the twenty thousand pharmacists are hardly enough for Lagos state alone. Pharmacists have no business not becoming millionaires and billionaires, unless you are averse to doing business. deltateam: 4 Likes 1 Share |

I'm a nurse, but i will say go for pharmacy. Nurses can easily get job unlike pharmacist, but pharmacists have a better job placement and well organised. Pharmacists can use their licence to make big money and can easily establish their own pharmacy which is more lucrative than the nursing job. In terms of strength in the hospital doctors and nurses have it. They can knock down pharmacy position in the hospital. Meaning pharmacists can't really go on strike on their own. You know what I mean. 3 Likes |

Uyi168: Haha u can't even disprove one thing I've said above with facts. Best u can do is to come under like someone with low IQ and make one general statement that says nothing. There will always be more job openings for nursing than for pharmacy and nurses will always earn more than pharmacists. |

Am a male nursing student. I initially wanted to study pharmacy but being that I hate Nigeria so much that I won't hesitate leaving immediately after graduation, I had to switch to nursing cos it is the easiest ticket to any country you want to move in. Pharmacy is the best if you want to stay in Nigeria while Nursing is the best if you want to leave this country easily. 5 Likes |

Do your politicians whom you voted for to think about saving the society think about saving anything? How many of the health professionals you're talking about were voted by you to become what they are? How many votes did I gather to become a pharmacist? And why do you think thinking about money cannot co-exist with saving people's lives? Enough of this BS pseudo sentiments some people like to preach to appear sanctimonious. Let it sink in, health costs money... You live your life as an average Nigerian not for a second thinking about making provisions for your health. Instead of buying an health insurance package you would rather hand over your money to churches and mosques and bars and other things... And when you are in need of health services you suddenly remember that your health professionals are supposed to be thinking about saving lives and not making money. We safeguard your health when you pay for our services. If you are not happy about that, go to your church/mosque and use your faith to contract your healing. Tajbol4splend: 2 Likes |

How can u say nursing is more lucrative? Pharmacy is like business. U can become a multi millionaire with a large pharmacy store. Am not talking about kiosk o. Big mall type of shit. Those days people raked in millions from selling codeine cough syrup. Anti malarial drugs alone sef. Never compare a good business to a salary job. 5 Likes 1 Share |
