If you're an Igbo and born before the millennium, you must know something about the countless tales of Chief Vincent Douro, nicknamed Otokoto, who humiliated ritual murder. At the time, his son Obidiozor Duru was king of the notorious Black Secret sect, responsible for the sporadic robbery and kidnapping of children in Owerri, Imo. After rumours of malicious activity by the Otokoto family, Owerri put Otokoto under radar and surveillance.

They say there is no smoke without fire. Even when the wind blows, the bird's air remains open. On September 19, 1996, Otokoto was indicted. The dirty sheets are washed outside, the exotic hotel, the Otokoto Hotel, destroyed. He was detained and then executed 20 years after the charges.

Who intervened?
It all happened on September 19, 1996, in the capital, Owerri, Imo state, when an innocent 11-year-old boy named Anthony Ikechukwu Okoronkwo was killed for a ritual.

The young man was a peanut hunter who visited the streets of Owerri to sell his wares. On that fateful day, he was walking past the Otokoto hotel when a man identified as Inokentiy Ekeanyanu at Hotel Otokoto, 32, signalled for him to come.

Unsuspecting, the excited young man entered the hotel to sell his wares and was treated as a guest. They gave him a cold bottle of Coca-Cola, which he was happy to cut back. Unfortunately, the drink was full and poor Ikechukwu soon fell unconscious constantly.

Ekeanyanwu then carried Ikechukwu's limp body to one of the hotel rooms, followed by the prohibition of gods and humans. He chopped off the boy's head, tore open his stomach, gathered his heart, and cut off the tip of his penis. He selected the other organs he needed, arranged them in a plastic bag, and buried his remains in a shallow grave near the hotel.


HOW PEOPLE KNOWN
After burying the poor boy, he immediately left the hotel to give birth to a big cat head named Head Leonard Unaogu in Eziama, Ikeduru, near Owerri. Blood was still flowing from his pocket when he walked out, suspecting Okada's man, identified as Mr Hillary Ngzi Opara. Ekeanyanwu could not lower his head because the Unaogu Chieftain had left the city for Lagos. Remember, it was 1996 and there were no cell phones. He had to get back to Owerri. The cyclists hurriedly alerted the police and they intercepted Ekeanyanwu in a Peugeot 505 on their way back to Owerri. Hell is released as the news spreads. The media even fed him when they broadcast Ekeanyanwu live with Ikechukwu's fresh little head.

Owerri men went crazy at the sight of the bloody sight. They all came out of the Otokoto Hotel to protest. The hotel building was completely destroyed. They also went to the nearby Otokoto Palace and destroyed expensive cars and property of choice. The unstoppable rebels roam around destroying other objects connected to the island, even those of their friends.

ADDITIONAL EXAMINATIONS
Ekeanyanwu, later identified as a gardener at Hotel Otokoto, was left in prison. Surprisingly, he died from food poisoning four days later. Fortunately, he was able to confess before screaming. He involved the Head of Unaogu as the leader of Ikechukwu's brutal assassinations. In fact, they run a murder consortium that specializes in the abduction and gathering of human organs for rituals. According to him, the Unaogu Tribe Chief ordered him to take a human head. He also admitted that Otokoto and his friends had been in business since the 1970s. The hotel guests are also not spared. They are sedated or attacked in the middle of their sleep, then dismembered and their organs removed.

Police quickly entered and found dozens of shallow graves. More than 24 human bodies that were crushed and dismembered were exhumed. The village head of Unaogu was immediately arrested, but he openly denied knowing who Ekeanyanu was. He was the younger brother of Laz Unaogu, then Minister General Sani Abacha.

TRIALS AND SOLUTIONS
The trial began on 9 December 1996 with man Okada Ngozi Hillary Opara as the prosecutor's first witness. Other witnesses appeared, including Ambrose Onach, a police sergeant who recorded Ekeanyanu's confession before he was mysteriously killed, and Margaret Aholonu, a hotel receptionist who admitted that Chef Vincent Douro was on the day that Ikechukwu actually did at the hotel beheaded. Another police sergeant, Sandy Onvucekwa, told the court that Ekeanianu lied about the crime scene. According to Onwuchekwa, Ekeanyanwu told them that he executed poor Ikechukwu and dumped his body in the Mba River near Owerri to cover up the real crime scene. The police were initially deceived by a false lead before they received information about the festivities at the Otokoto Hotel.
