I'm not sure where this cleaning incision site with spirit comes from. Is this based on instruction from the doctor?
Both my surgeries (Myomectomy and CS) I was only asked to keep the incision area dry and healing was fast (even faster for my CS but the suturing method was different)

Did you have your surgeries in Nigeria or abroad?

Because abroad, when you have a minor injury at home, spirit is not used. It's even difficult to get spirit to buy. But in Nigeria, it's very important to prevent possibility of infection. Hence our steady recourse to spirit.

Did you have your surgeries in Nigeria or abroad?

Because abroad, when you have a minor injury at home, spirit is not used. It's even difficult to get spirit to buy. But in Nigeria, it's very important to prevent possibility of infection. Hence our steady recourse to spirit.

Also we have very high humidity so 'keep dry' is not very easy in Nigeria.

I had my myomectomy in Nigeria and CS abroad. But both times the instruction was to keep the area dry and the recovery was fast.
I was just wondering if the application of spirit had anything to do with the delayed healing and sometimes I read of sutures coming open...

I welcomed my Platinum princess on the 26th of August through ECS. So sorry this is coming late. Mama is suffering from headache due to spinal anaesthesia. Mama that has gone through this pls shook mouth and help a mum on what to do.

If u have d cash now start shopping oo third trimester tiredness and dec rush shopping is not adviceable Hope we dey collect d kpekus offering as our strength can carry us.. No dulling oo.

My baby kicks these days nah kun fu style Sometimes i keep wondering if it is only one baby that is making all that movement .

If you never register for antenatal this is d time to do that so you will be checked and monitored oo we want healthy babies ooo... We need to be taking our drugs regularly no skipping ooo, drink enough water and eat fruits and vegetables for your blood levels. Hope those of us that has registered are keeping up with our appointments...

The right medical personnels will attend to us at the time of our deliveries in Jesus name.

Please mothers I'm dearly in need of baby items, EDD is Nov. 3 and I've not gotten a pin...things are a little bit tight ,I go for antenatal once in a while when I can afford antenatal fee . I decide to come out here for help since nothing is forthcoming.

I had my myomectomy in Nigeria and CS abroad. But both times the instruction was to keep the area dry and the recovery was fast.
I was just wondering if the application of spirit had anything to do with the delayed healing and sometimes I read of sutures coming open...

Yeah especially since spirit is quite harsh. I'm thinking maybe it just depends on who does the surgery. I know someone who did myomectomy, incision was the size of a credit card. The same surgery some doctors will design a woman's stomach lol. Just the same way we're all stitched after episiotomy but outcome depends on who does the stitching.

Also for myomectomy you can rest afterwards, most women are not really able to rest after CS and see carrying baby etc.

However if I was in such shoes and my doctor said I should use spirit, I would because na infection bad pass show healing, loose suturing etc.
