Daddy Freeze had responded to a certain sermon by Oyedepo about submission in marriage. Oyedepo had said "THE ONLY WAY TO A FRUITFUL MARRIAGE IS TOTAL SUBMISSION ON THE PART OF THE WIFE."

Daddy Freeze responded and said that in marriage, respect is reciprocal. He said that just as the bible instructs women to be submissive to their husbands, husbands should also reciprocate the gesture and also be submissive to their wives. On a lighter note, Freeze spoke like a feminist . He advocated for respect for women in their marriages.

He backed up his claims with the following portions of the bible:

1. Ephesians 5:21 (NLT)
2. Ephesians 5:25 (NLT)
3. Ephesians 5:33 (NLT).
