Help My Edges Are Begining To Observe Social Distancing. by GiftedTitty: 11:12pm On Sep 04, 2020 |
My natural hair journey began two and a half years ago. Before that i had been relaxing my hair. I used virtually any relaxer i laid my hands on, i had no special brand. I made use of any brand of shampoo and hair cream. My hair was strong and i had every reason to believe it would stay that way. Talking of mega root, Ozone, Dallas, Dark and lovely? They've all passed through my hair. And they've left their foot prints as well. When I relaxed my hair I would relax it from the root to the tip, not knowing i was giving my hair slow poison. My brownish black hair began to turn golden brown, I continued. It started to tangle, I frowned and continued, it started to break i was scared but still continued. My hair then gave up. It had cried i did not listen, it had warned i did not heed. It started breaking and falling like they never belonged to my head. Those were times i would close my eyes while combing my hair. I did not want to see the innumerable strands of hair clinging to my comb. I would tell my sister to help me dispose it. Few weeks later, while washing my hair i felt like crying. My hair was coming off my head as though i was pucking feathers from a chicken with hot water. Come and see my bathroom it had turned to a mini barbing saloon. It was then it dawned on me, i was becoming bald and i was just in my late teens. I then decided to do the big chop and go natural. Ive been a natural for 2 years now and counting. It has been far from enjoyable. Washing it is a nightmare, combing is hell. I'm usually scared of braiding my hair because it hurts so much but the worst was yet to come. As time went by i began to notice my 10 inches hair wasn't growing any longer in fact it was growing shorter. I stayed cool and measured it few months later ......Chai! It was 8 inches. It was so funny that i forgot to laugh. June this year I then began to browse about hair care, i learnt that my hair was 4c and it had no regular curl pattern which made it prone to shrinkage. I learnt my split ends were the nasty things that prevented my hair from increasing in length though they were growing. So mumu girl that i was, i chopped of more than half of my hair believing they were split ends only for me to measure my hair again and find out they were roughly three inches. I just sighed. I began using deep conditioners, leave in and oils i have spent a lot on this hair these few months and it breaks my heart to see it this way. Things were going on fine until i decided to trim my edges too because i believed they had split ends too. That was when my wahala started. While i was even relaxing my hair loss was general and i lost my edges as much as the other part of my hair but this time it is only my edges. Ive tried every thing i can to make it grow back I moisturize and oil it every night and sleep with a satin bonnet but its not growing. I recently did a hairstyle which involves a braid on the left side of my head while the rest were twists. By the time i undid this hair style my left edges had flown off. Now ive stayed away from braids. Please i need practical advise. Im still young and its too early for my edges to be doing social distancing. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here is what I did and I'm still doing to get my front hair back: Castor oil Palm kernel oil Vitamin E oil I mix all these together in a bottle. I rinse my hair with rice water once in 2 weeks, wash it off with deep hair conditioner, apply the oil, then apply shea butter. I also make sure my hair is always wet before combing it. |

GiftedTitty: Pardon me for late replies . what you'll do is: You get any bio oil (coconut, carrot, olive..e.t.c) Then get curry leaves Under low heat(stove or gas) using a trying pan, put any quantity of the bio oil ,then put the leaves and allow it to fry(sort of) just let it until the oil turns green and the leaf turns black. But be very careful cause 1. Curry leave is a drying agent. So you have to put more quantity of oil and less quantity of leaves. 2. Don't leave it in the fire and go else where. Your house fit burn |
