I did fulfil my promise by going this Saturday (5 sept) to cut the story short when we reach Ore Benin road (6pm), this husky black Mopol officer stop our Toyota Siena car (public transport), he ask us...

The painful part of my ordeal is that the 85k is my only savings.....I know that the Lord am serving will surely punish them....Police is not your friend o

You made the right decision, don't blame yourself, transferring the money to them is the worst thing that can happen to them cos the money can now be traced. Trust me if you drag am with them they will kill you and maybe even use your thumbprint to access your phone. There is no amount of money big enough to die for. This same thing almost happened to me 6months ago when they pulled me out of the car on the way to my NYSC PPA, they started seeing pictures of me with my foreign classmates on the phone and they started asking all sorts of questions that went on and on thankfully there was a woman from civil defense in the car that came out to ask them what the delay was about and at that point they won't even let me go until I asked them if I was under arrest and if yes they should call my dad who was a lawyer (he isn't) at that point they gave up. Always stay sharp and keep your money in the bank (a foreign bank if you have one preferably). This country no balance at all.

See stupidity. Who will take you to EFCC? They will take you to their main base and keep you in cell for days. Even that 80k will turn to 300k. You’re not wise if you’re saying this in Nigeria.

The best thing is to pay them and report them. There are police and lawyers that specialize in getting swift justice for this kind of case.
They told the guy they'll take him to efcc,he should have insisted .
I dont think they'll like to take him to there majn base, blc the dpo will now be aware of the case and am not sure they'll want to share the proceeds with him.

What I don't understand is why the threat of going to the Police station or EFCC or whatever makes people too scared that they allow instead to be robbed in broad day light. If you know you have nothing to fear, why is the threat of been taken to EFCC scary to you. How can you be so stupid! You're a corper with a legal ID, yet you let yourself get robbed! Please for all those reading, a policeman has no right to search your phone! If they ask for your phone, ask them for a search warrant. You have rights! Let them know that. Threaten to call you lawyer if possible. And if you know you're not guilty of anything, be the one to suggest going to the police station. I promise you they would let you go. Go to Twitter and tag all those you're asked to tag. You must get that money back!

I'm angry men.
Bro these men will force you into their vehicle and take you to an unknown location, anything you say to them will only fall on deaf ears

I dont know about op or any other person but when I was a youth corper I used to get past police and military check point by saying "esprit de corps" and showing my Id card.

If you are a corper you are paramilitary hence the 3weeks orientation camp

That must have been many years ago. When I served too, being on the NYSC uniform or brandishing your NYSC ID was enough to instill some degree of fear or restraint in these motherfuckers. They would quickly leave you alone as per say you he 'government pikin'. Apparently times have changed. These days corpers are prime targets for these kinds of extortion. Sad.

Then he ask for my phone, that's when i knew something is not okay, I actually gave him my phone and he kept on searching through my what'sapp message, Inbox and pic gallery. The next thing i will hear is Mr man move to that side (my heartbeat was already running madly) he ask me why can i have 85k in my account, Why am i using 2 what'sapp account. The next thing he started calling me names you this lazy yahoo boys, god catch u today, krokor dey ur yansh this time.

I beg him to let me go that am not a yahoo boy but all my plead fall into zero then he start to threaten me that he will hand me over to EFCC then he remove his handcuff and I plead to him multiple times then his colleagues came to me which i thought he want to help me beg him only for him to say "oh boy u sef do normal and water him flower" to my surprise one those boys selling gala and drinks came to us and brought out a POS machine and this stupid Mopol force me to transfer 80k then he release me but the strange thing is that these police officers are not with their tags to reveal their names and numbers and they kept calling eachother in nicknames like scorpion, Rambo they only wear that Mopol polo shirt and carry AK 47 rifles.

The painful part of my ordeal is that the 85k is my only savings.....I know that the Lord am serving will surely punish them....Police is not your friend o

Mr. man am sorry to say, but you are a big fool.i stopped reading your post when you said they made you transfer money to them.why give them a whooping sum of 80thousand when you are not guilty of their charges against you? you are part of the problem of nigeria.you deserve what you got cos a clear conscience fears no accusation.why not let them take you to the station and clear your name if you are really free? you being a corp member is enough for them to respect you and leave you alone.but you played a coward.perhaps becos you had a skeleton in your cupboard.

In as much as Mopol has done this and things worse than this, but we can authoritatively tell you that these particular ones that stole your 80,000 naira are nothing but Armed High Way Robbers.
Including the boy selling the Gala with the POS.
They only decided to use non-violent force, so that they can rob more victims at once!
Sorry for your loss,
We know how painful it could be when you are robbed out of your life-savings.
ARMED ROBBERS robbed you, not Mopol.
They will all meet their waterloo before the end of this month,
They can never escape it.

As a graduate, you should have even told them you prefer them to take you to EFCC,
Since you are clean!

And watch them leave you alone,
Cos you know your onions and right!

You know we love saying the truth always, without minding whose ox is gored.
We just told you the whole truth here.

Another angle to this.....

.....and what does his dressing has to do with him being robbed?
This is how the bad officers will continue to step on y'all.
Shame!

You called them armed robbers and yet said he could have allow them call the EFCC...you are confused... These men are pure Mopol officers from the Nigeria Police ... They have killed many who refused to coperate with them in the name of yahoo yahoo or kidnapper... The guy did the best by transferring the money to the criminal officers... There are many former armed robbers in the police force , some in the Police anti-robbery squad , mostly their drivers , all in the name of repentant criminals ...the system is faulty , there is urgent need for restructuring of the Nigerian police .

Sorry about your loss but dont be a chicken.

With the evidence of the POS from your bank account they can be smoked out and you get your money out.

First thing first go into Twitter narrate this story and tag the official police handle for complaint and tag segezz and rugged man. Make sure you also provide the evidence of the deduction that have been charged from your account details the narration will show from your bank statement. Paste it there with the culprit account name and bank statement.

Ask twitter Nigeria for help on what to do by asking them to retweet.

Under a week your fund will be returned and those dudes will go through room trial and likely lose their jobs.

Please proceed and act fast you are a sharp corper.

Trust me, those police officers cannot be found. The money is gone and gone for good.

The evidence from the POS will only put the POS owner in trouble, not the police.

Soldiers, police etc have found a way of using traders and vendors as middlemen. The guy should just give up on Nigeria like some of us have already done a long time ago and learn to be bold. By being bold, never allow any police officer check your phone on the road. If they won't take you to the station, then refuse to unlock your phone. Yes, use a password always.

If he has the luxury of time, he can go on and on calling out the Nigerian Police as usual. We have been doing this for decades but nothing will come out of it. The Nigerian police will always be home to the most corrupt personalities in the world.
