yaki84: So long as they are setting the price, there is a subsidy What happened in 2016 was partial removal to a point where goovernment coluld afford to pay subsides, and marketeers could make profit somewhat. It's what has been happening, and why fuel is no longer 75 kobo as it was in 1990 And yes, I didn't fall for the lie in 2016. Once you get how a subsidy works, you won't have too even now, the government is still setting the price, so i dont beleive them. Until they remove the PPRA, and allow marketers a free hand in setting the price, and provatise NNPC, then i'll beleive. (Ive been following the subsidy thing for years, started supporting its removal in 2012) |

Indeed Jonathan was a weakling now we've got a real man with military background. We expected him to crush bokoharm in one sweep but it is the people he is crushing everyday. You rejected a good man for a tyrant dictator, let's enjoy him together 3 Likes |

themonk: They are against deregulation too On one of their posters, they call for prices to be ut to 87 naira. That means an increase in funds for suubsidy, and a decrease inn deregulatory activities. It would also make things worse. In Venezuela, they sell fuel at 8 naira per liter. Their petrol induustry is in taters. Subsidy |

Is it that the police and the other forces used against armless protesters always by the government to repel protest are not feeling the heat of the hikes in prices of goods and services or what? If the protest pays, they will enjoy the country, why always let the useless government intimidate Nigerians? 1 Like |

Any agitation u see from d south west is not a genuine agitation but covertly directed at ensuring they get d APC ticket in 2023. It is not really a honest agitation, so other regions have seen through their self deceit. They are only clamouring now because it seem as if 2023 presidency is not sure for them. Else you would have been seeing their elites using different theories and analysis to support this govt irrespective of what d govt does 3 Likes |

kikero: Use your brain - building and operating refineries is nkt rocket science - there are entities in Nigeria that generate all thier power needs e.g private universities, IITA etc.this arrangement of controlling everything from the center i. E the north will nkt work. Unbundled power assets of this country, let states control thier resources and focus on thier areas of comparative advantage - state A can buy power from state B if it can't generate But they won't do it - it can't favor the northern oligarchy.. It's a doomed country So stop spewing trash 1 Like |
