HausaFulani is a term unique to Nigeria which collectively refers to the Hausa and Fulani as a people. The two are grouped together because since the Islamic revolution of Usman Danfodiyo their culture have become even more intertwined within Nigeria. Hausafulani As the name suggests, the Hausa/Fulani are two ethnic groups which were formerly distinct but are now for all practical purposes intermixed to the extent of being regarded as one inseparable ethnic nation. Although found throughout the grassland belt of West Africa, the bulk of the Hausa/Fulani population is concentrated in Northern Nigeria especially in and around the urban centres of Sokoto, Kano and Katsina which were important market centres on the southern section of the trans-Saharan caravan trade routes in the past. The Hausa had established well organised city states before the advent of the Fulani. These states included Katsina, Daura, Kano Zazzau (Zaria), Biram and Gobir. Some of these were conquered and re-established by the Fulani. A few other kingdoms such as Katagum, Hadejia and Gombe were founded. The coming of the Fulani into Hausaland resulted in significant changes in the area. They brought the full force of Islam which became a great factor of social life and culture. In education, dress, taste and outlook, the Hausa and their Fulani conquerors became part of the Islamic culture world. This influence remains till today. Many Hausa people continue to be subsistence farmers, with a few practising mixed farming. Others are skilled craftsmen, such as leather workers. The Fulani on the other hand comprise’ ruling dynasties, semi-sedentary farmers, settled farmers and herders but in the main pastoralists. Today, Hausa/Fulani influence has spread over much of the culture in Northern Nigeria where the Hausa language has become important. 9 Likes 2 Shares

For those saying that fulani are foreigners!! We all originated from somewhere! Yorubas believe they originatefd from Egypt! Hausa believe to have originated from Baghdad We the Fulanis traced our origin to Futa D'Jallon in Guinea Igbos claim to have come from Isreal which has been refuted by Israeli Achealogists! Some claim that they originatrd from aguleri while some claim they originated from Enuguukwu. But the fact is... We all originated from somewhere! We the Fulanis are proud to be able to know where we originated from 12 Likes 6 Shares

Hausafulanis are culturally united!! There's no family that has no fulani or Hausa blood. That's why they will never be crisis between the Hausas and the Fulani tribe. Intermarriage between the two tribes has been going on for over 200yrs now 8 Likes 2 Shares

Arrewa: Sounds as silly as "Nigeria is one united country" Or "One Nigeria" Look, who's asking you to prove that Hausa and Fulani are "strongly united" as you keep repeating like a broken record? Parasites that destroy it's host always try to make its intention seem benign from the start. Inevitably, Nigeria has a date with destiny, when the components of this country will have to make their stand based on ethnic identify. Hausas will finally get to say if Fulanis are actually a part of them or not. You are merely running when no one is chasing you. 50 Likes 7 Shares |

Hausa-Fulani = Taqiyya (Deception). The word 'Hausa-Fulani' is nothing but a political term developed by fulani supremacists to promote fulani agenda. A foreign observer studying hausas and fulanis as one united ethnic nation (as fulani supremacist want Nigerians to believe) will immediately notice huge differences between them. These differences are vast in economic, social, religious, and human development. While majority of hausas (commonly refered to as Talakawas and Almajiris) live in abject poverty, their fulani rulers live in riches and wealth. Why these economic differences between a so called 'One United nation'? How come one tribe lives like street rats and the other tribe lives in wealth and opulence? Well the answer lies in the political (cast system) structure in the North. Top positions in Northern Nigeria such as local govt chairmen, emirs, ministers, govs, etc are exclusive reserves for fulanis. This inbalance is widespread and cuts across every spheres of northern life. The situation is the same in security agencies. The complete domination of Northern political structure and rulership by minority fulanis gave them the opportunity to amass wealth, riches, and get undue economic advantage against hausas, who happens to be a majority ethnic group. If fulanis and hausas and one and the same, how come hausas never became emirs in north's caliphate system? If hausas and fulanis are one through religion, how come all the rulers that occupied the caliphate throne after Usman Danfodio are fulanis? Are hausa people not good enough to become sultans and emirs in their own land? Your guess is as good as mine. Hausas are even worst off in human development index. While apartheid fulani rulers send their children to the best of schools home and abroad, with jobs waiting for them via quota system whether they're qualified or not, the majority of Hausas are left to wallow in mass illiteracy and abject poverty. In place of schools, northern rulers provide mallams for them to groom and to teach hausa children quran and Islam. In the end you find a vast army of youths totally indoctrinated in religion. This is one of the major reasons why Nigeria is still battling boko haram terrorist group. North have a steady supply of religious extremists. Extremists waiting to be snatched by terrorist leaders. Nigeria didn't become poverty capital of the world by accident. Poverty became so widespread in Nigeria particularly in the North because northern fulani rulers designed it to be so. To them poverty is a tool, a weapon to be used as a means to control people (servants) and stop them from misbehaving. Dishing handouts like N5,000 to the poor is one of fulanis favorite social programs to the poor because it makes poor people (Talakawas) completely dependent on them (fulanis) for sustenance. A people ravaged by economic poverty are easy targets for manipulation and control. Beggers roaming every corner of Nigeria, fast becoming a menace to society with many deported even by northern govs themselves are Hausa people. Northern govs who are all fulanis will NEVER deport FULANI beggers from one state to another, assuming there are fulani beggers. In the health sector, sickness like polio, maleria, thyphoid fever, VVF, child deaths, etc are widespread among hausas. Infact every negative development indices like hunger, poverty, illiteracy, etc in Northern Nigeria traces back to hausas. If hausas and fulanis are one as fulani taqiya practioners want us to believe, Hausas won't be bearing these negative economic indices in Nigeria. What about insecurity? The Hausas themselves are not spared from genocidal activities of fulani terrorist. The bulk of those being slaughtered in numbers in Zamfara, Katsina, Sokoto, Bauchi, Yobe, etc are Hausa farmers with occasional fulani victims (collateral damage) What about religion and religious freedom? Hausas are currently being persecuted and murdered in cool blood because of their religious beliefs - case study: Shiites, hausa Christians, Traditionalist, and Athiest. These groups are often targets of religious persecution and murder by sunni religious extremists. If fulanis practice their sunni islam the way they want, but hausas can't practice their chosen faiths in peace, then where is the so called hausa-fulani unity? What a deception. Hausas, a majority ethnic group occupies the lowest ladder in north's political and economic development. They're mere servants to fulanis. Intoxicated with power, fulani rulers will deal ruthlessly with anyone or group that threatens them. They'll do anything to maintain the status quo. There's a saying that says 'no condition is permanent'. Empires rise and fall. It happened before and will happen again. A day is coming very soon when the hausas will rise and end fulani apartheid rule over them and their land. DISINTEGRATION OF NIGERIA WILL SAVE MILLIONS OF LIVES FROM STATE SPONSORED TERRORISM! whirlwind7:keep the hatred you have for the Fulanis for yourself. Hausafulani is here... It's too late to divide the US! Asking Hausas to reject Fulanis or Fulanis rejecting Hausas is like an outsider asking you to reject your relative. There's no family that has no fulani or Hausa blood in the northern family. I know that you're strongly jealous of our unity in the north 8 Likes 3 Shares |

The coinage HausaFulani is too bogus. Its a political-ethnic description meant for capturing power. Hausa is used as an amalgam for other polities in the north. majority of the north are tribal people.
