The truth is any woman in the west will do this, naija woman from village or naija woman based abroad or western woman. Any woman would do it. The only women I can think of who wouldn't do this are Indian or pakistani women brought from india and pakistan. Those ones are more subdued because of their religion.
What I don't understand about this video is the way the woman is just vindictive. Regardless what the man may have done, haba why is she throwing water on him? What kind of nonsense is that? It's clear she's taking full advantage of the fact that the guy cannot raise his hands and hit her under any circumstance. He's probably under the watch of the law and that would put him in serious trouble. So the woman is going the extra length and trying to provoke him all she can. That's just stupid.

Much has been said about the attitude of Nigerian women abroad. What many people forget are certain things I'd outline for clarity.

1. Being married in the west is different from marriage in Nigeria. That is what many don't get. Just as with kids, no matter how 'African' and disciplined you claim to be, don't go about using whips on your kids or you'd get into serious issues. Same applies with marriage. People want to get married in the west but want to lord it all as in Nigeria

2. To add to the point above. Most naija guys would go out and treat younger European kids with respect and dignity but they come home and want their wives to kneel and serve them. Most ladies would see how u treat their fellows outside and take a cue.

3. There are multiple privileges that come with being a man in Nigeria that no one would give in the West.
There is nothing that the Nigerian lady did that an average white lady wouldn't do and exceed. If in doubt, ask the white married dudes what they pass through. It's in Nigeria that a married man would have lots of girlfriends and the wife would know and do nothing.

4. Another phrase getting common on nairaland is that 'most Nigerian ladies are entitled'. I'd hazard to say that if you think they're entitled, then you've not come across a white lady living in the west. You can ask the average white lady what they think about the roles we've come to expect from ladies in Nigeria

5. There are lots of success stories with Nigerian marriages. Most successful marriages are based on compatibility. Fact is for most Nigerians who grew up in Nigeria, they'd be most compatible with a fellow Nigerian and hence having likelihood of long lasting relationships with them.

6. They're are lots of things that are taken for granted with a Nigerian brought up lady that would be major issues if it was a white counterpart e.g maintaining a relationship with relatives, model of training ones kids, maintaining ones heritage in their offspring, food, domestic chores e.t.c.
Except if you're marrying for survival (papers) but if you're standing on both feet, it'd be difficult to gel with the average white lady for a long-term relationship. Good luck finding a British lady that would rather spend her summer touring your 'boring' relatives in Nigeria than vacationing somewhere else
I'm not even talking about Asians, cos they too have a very strong cultural background.

7. In the US, it seems there's a pattern with Nigerian nurses. But it seems some guys idea of bringing a lady over is for her to work as (or train her to be) a nurse, make much more that him while he expects her to bring it back for them to spend, and he'd still Lord ot over her like they were back in Nigeria. In the west, the society would not expect a lady to remain in such a relationship for the sake of being married.

8. Finally, the fact is that a good number (didn't say all or majority) of Nigerian dudes abroad are in the lower economic classes and take up humble jobs. But these same dudes want to get married to a lady and not be humble at home. They want to be Hitler at home but outside they become doves...

I agree that some ladies are the devil's incarnate and would bring anyone down. But that trait is not shared by Nigerian ladies alone or by one sex for that matter.

Hello,

If you would not mind, could you be able to post a water tight sample of pre-nup contract agreement (for marriage) for perusal purposes.

I have made some researches online and seen some sample, but you comment about tight pre-nup is what piqued my interest.

This is a short drama, the camera movement says the camera man is not eavesdropping but capturing a scene, and the actors are aware.

Women don't face consequences for their actions over there Broes, even if she had a kid for you and the courts told you to pay child support, the money is paid to her account and nobody makes sure she spends it on the kid.

Imagine sending £2300 monthly on child support when the highest the child is spending is £400 a year. Women are cashing out big time from divorcing men or reporting men for abuse.

Amber heard that acted Mera on Aquaman sued her ex husband and alleged he was abusing her physically.. turns out she was the one abusing him and cheating on him throughout their marriage.

Even the prenuptial agreement some of you are saying is necessary before you marry over there lawyers are skilled in dismantling it's weight in court.

She just stays on the stand with tears in her eyes as she says she "was young and didn't know what the document meant", how do you rebut her plea? You can't!

You lose all your stuff if you're unluckily, half if you're lucky and have to keep paying her alimony till you die.

Oh wow! She even went to the extent of pouring the man water, right in front of their child I feel for the child. She will grow up with huge psychological imbalance.

Wait oh, no single lady on this thread to defend yourselves? Are y'all guilty as charged?

When I was abroad and wanted to get married, I was advised to marry an abroad-based Nigerian woman who had an understanding of the workings of the system abroad, who understood that every penny must be worked for and every bill must be paid and failure would lead to a judicial process. Someone who would appreciate the value of £20 after understanding the sweat it takes to get it.

Many at times, girls at home are not really exposed and don't understand the dynamics of settling down abroad. They don't understand the struggles of sharing a house, budgeting for a month, eating bread with mayonnaise, pasta with mayonnaise, seeing things you cannot afford to buy, loneliness and worst of all, having no money and having no one to loan you. When she does not go through these struggles and comes abroad, she'd think life is a paradise when she see house and car. Then when she is befriended by one gbeborun, they'd fill her head with ideas that she can be independent at your expense. They then begin to launch a scheme to get you out of the way and take over your house. Even when they take over these houses, they forget they must pay all the bills to maintain the house: heating, electricity, land tax, council tax, gas and water bills; telephone bills, TV license, home contents insurance and house fire insurance. Let them have the house. Fight not to pay alimony. Within two years, they'd be forced to sell the house and na there their real struggle go start.

There are many high-flying women abroad who are well-to-do and well-mannered. Go to churches, they are there; go to local expats events like internations, they are there. You'd also find them at conferences, pay and go. If it becomes inevitable to bring a woman from Nigeria, get a pre-nup to protect yourself and your assets, don't be blinded by love. Some women cannot manage freedom. I remember when the UK police went to a church and took a Yoruba-speaking Nigerian to plead with Nigerian women to stop calling the police on their husbands.

That's the sad mindset of people who have never set foot in the west AND the unfortunate image many Africans abroad want to project to the ones at home. You rarely see people abroad tell others at home that life is tough OR that they are broke and hungry OR that they can't make ends meet OR that the car/home they "supposedly" bought is a loan/mortgage and they have to repay that loan for years (sometimes even couple of decades)... Even when broke, they will be posting BS picture on social media as if all is rosy.

No wonder thereafter people back home will now believe that in the west you can plant a €100 note, water it, then come the next day and pick €200. Lol

There is no such thing as a watertight prenuptial agreement, as they can always be challenged in court, when the union falls apart. The poorer spouse can just say that he/she was coerced into signing it OR that they signed it under duress, et voila!!!
