Military men attached to 7UP Benin engaged in a short battle with some members of NBM killing two in the process. According to reports Tue soldiers confronted the guys for shooting in the hair while escorting their dead member to the burial ground. The soldier men have since gone into hiding as some 7UP properties have been set ablaze by some angry NBM boys who are protesting the killing of two of their members.


The first guy was shot while arguing with the soldier men over the gun shot and was quickly rushed to the hospital but later gave up the ghost on the way. The news of their dead member angered the boys and one decided to pour fuel on a 7UP vehicle and he was gunned down by a soldier man dying at the spot, this later led to exchange of gunshots between both parties. So many were hospitalised cos their guns could barely match the ones wielded by the military men.


As at today, the soldier are yet to come out and stand in their normal post, this might be related to fear of reprisal. I just hope the state government come into this quickly and make peace.


Verdict:

1. Soldiers hate civilians with guns.
2. Cultism is a shortcut to death.
3. More cultists will be tracked and killed. Some of them will disappear without trace

Your point 3 and point one needs to understand that illegal possession of fire arms can be handled without causing conflict. Secondly the part you mentioned soldiers killing more cultist is really going to happen at the beginning of it all, in the end soldier will starts suffering heavy losses, just like they are doing with Boko Haram currently cos so many top politicians belong to one cult group or the other and will willingly support their groups over the NA anytime any day. Today Boko Haram seems to be over powering the army, same with Niger delta militants, let's assume all NBM members all over Nigeria fall on the army, Nne there will be no where for them to hide, it will lead to a full blown war cos some non cultists will be killed by angry soldier and some other cult groups might loose their members too and join in the fight. These cult groups got weapons and all they lack is military training.. Like I said earlier, many cultist will die in the beginning but towards the end they will gain upper hand like Boko Haram of today and militants of yesterday.

Let's not pray for such, we need peace.. The army or police can't go about killing people without trying them if they are guilty and the cultists can't go about carrying weapons.. Both were wrong, life is precious, thanks.

Sir do you have any relative who is a soldier and is serving in Maiduguri..... I guess you don't, that's why it's easy for you to say things you know nothing about. Soldiers in Maiduguri n other parts of the North East are sacrificing alot, the least you could do is to pray n support them.

That's what I noticed, not just the army the police Is also guilty if such, they kill southerners within the slightest provocation but don't do such up north.. Nigeria is at the brink of division and this is the least we need right now, these guys should be called to order or removed from the society and taken into barracks or some isolated area, they can't cohabit with citizens. I don't think they get enough orientation on how to treat citizens during training. Till date, boys in bayelsa detest soldier and are ready to kill them within the slightest provocation, soldiers and police we ought to see as heroes now playing villain. They could have called the police, seized the weapons, make arrest and an undertaken is signed without any one having to die.
