WaterTheMonk: It’s all about practicality and the one that you’re most comfortable with. I’ve used Cubase, pro-tools, FL studio, Logic Pro and my all time fav is FL studio followed really closely by Cubase. The quality of your mixing and mastering depends on your sound card and studio monitors and the tools used to fine tune your raw sounds. 1 Like |

WaterTheMonk: For home studio voice recording, I recommend using the a dynamic microphone e.. smb70 as a dynamic microphone is best for an untreated room and will cut out those low frequency disturbances of unwanted noises. 1 Like |

For that price range, you may not be able to get 8gb ram laptop but since you are just starting, I'd say get the best of whatever your budget allows.
