NGpatriot: He can buy below international price. It will be a tripartite agreement with oil producers, FG and Dangote. |

So all the deregulation nonsense and removal of subsidy rubbish is just to aid Dangote Refinery? Is Dangote group or a curse to Nigeria that any sector they come in, makes life more difficult for the people instead of ameliorating it. |

mandarin: It doesn't work that way, crude is an internationally traded commodity with fixed market price and giving any buying discounts and preferential treatments means we must be ready to offer such considerations to other buyers and our own customers because they will demand the same thing or sue us for price fixing and gauging. Dangote is operating in a free trade zone, meaning international zone and totally out of the FG;s influence and consideration.. |

Desric:
This nonsense means other players can come in to invest their money and create jobs and wealth for Nigeria and Nigerians and they are already coming in. BUA is adding 200,000 barrels per day to compete with Dangote, more competition will naturally stabilize the price of petrol via market forces instead of government actions that prevents competition and investments. 1 Like |

Maxymilliano:It will be a false statement claiming to understand the direction of this administration. The fact that, the Ministers can say this publicly implies a hidden plan. Moreover, when did FG began to speak for private investors? Nigerians... Watch out! t6 |

IamWonderful:Would you have said the same thing if a foreign company owns the refinery? When does it become a crime for a Nigerian to do better than its government? If you think you can do better, kindly apply for your own license. The government is hungry for investors. |

NGpatriot:The new refinery, with a capacity to produce 200,000 barrels per day (bpd), is expected to be operational in 2024." I hope you also read this part? name one sector that has Dangote as a major player that prices of that commodity has not gone up more than 50% higher. 1 Like |

Desric: Journey of a million miles starts with one single step, Dangote started from somewhere when many companies the FG gave refinery licenses refused to invest and utilize their license. The upcoming refinery regardless when it's commissioned is a viable competition to go against Dangote in the market place and we need more of them to step forward and invest, to compete and drive prices down. You can not in one breath complain about monopoly while at the same time have issues with other companies coming in to break the monopoly. |

NGpatriot:I never talked about monopoly, I only talked about price hike wherever Dangote steps in. |
