Hmmmm Those who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones. If you insult other tribes you should have the mind to be at the receiving end too. Defending evil because you’re trying to save face is toxic to humanity. Nobody holy pass. |

Anyone who believes in Osu being slaves descendant and also believe in igbos marginalization in Nigeria is an hypocrite. Anyone who shouts "All lives matter" and still believe in this osu thing is an hypocrite. We are born equal. And that's one reason I hate house girls being treated as inferior to son and daughters of those who hire them. If you can't treat house girls like your child in love and with dignity, there's no need keeping them. Hypocrisy must stop. |

Igbos are one of the most discriminatory tribes in Nigeria. I say this even as an igbo lady. That's why I sometimes laugh when I hear some people agitating for Biafra. Igbos are not united and Biafra will remain a tall dream. Sighs. 1 Like |

nosiebaba: Later some fools will blame the white man for slave trade. The white man simply saw the constantly existent foolishness in the black man in the owning of slaves for no economic benefit and simply copied us but used black slaves for huge economic benefits. The white man simply copied what he saw we blacks do. And it is called a trade because he paid for the slaves and didn't seize them by force. That also means fellow blacks received blood money in exchange for the lives of their fellow blacks. The white man is not to be blamed for the killing and maltreatment of black slaves. The white man simply bought goods that had no value to his black business counterparts and the white man can do whatever he pleases with the goods he bought. The white man is innocent. 3 Likes |

There is nothing racist about it,in Igbo Land we marry in tribes that's it, everyone should marry from his or her lineage E.g Isaac advised his children JACOB AND ESSAU NOT TO MARRY FROM ISHMAELITE RATHER THEY SHOULD TRAVEL TO THEIR MUM PLACE REBECCA TO GO AND MARRY,is a lesson Of course we know that ESSAU DISOBEYED the rest is history |

sesan85: That's one thing with you people. You think igbo is like another tribe....our republican nature makes us too diverse. Adaobi is saying what applies to her own part of igboland. I am saying what applies in my own part of igboland. Stop showing your ignorance...I explain why igbos are abit skeptical about OSU...it goes against our core believe which is Freedom...infact OSU is against our "live and let live" slogan. Like I said again..there are areas in igboland dt dont subscribe to that OSU stuff.. Ume is against incest and other abominable crimes which goes against our core believes. Ume in Owerri can move to Mbaise and become freeborn... |

[quote author=Osagyefo98 post=93919403]If you are an OSU, you remain an OSU and generation unborn can't save you from that. Forming an association of osus is nothing but inferiority complex. Traditions remains tradition and can not change because few people feels that one or two things doesn't go their way. The whole article is nothing but trash and nonsense. The wisdom of our forefathers surpasses that of all these generations. The gods are wise and their ways unknown to men and for them to stipulate such rules, so shall it. If you don't like Igbo tradition relocate to yorubaland and change your name to Olaotu or relocate to hausaland and change your name to Kawaii but if you insist on staying in Igboland them you must respect and abide by her traditions... The tradition makes ndigbo special.[/quotep] That u re born of a poor & uneducated parents is just a happenstance, and not ur fault otherwise u would hv chosen to be born of an American or Canadian womb or even sired of Arthur Eze or Nzeribe ,but for anyone to be treated as osu or ohu as a result of accident of birth is unjust, uncalled for & inhuman. What culture & gods re u talking about. Men will sit down & set rules that will favor them.what hv ur so called gods done for u in Nigeria as an entity. We only jettison the sections of culture & traditions that doesn't favor us. What happens to killing of twins & other anomalies,we allowed Christianity to erode all those but allow Osu & Ohu to thrive because it's meant to oppress some families. but because u re fortunate like me to be born of a womb devoid of slavery, u encourage & uphold the practice even as u proclaim BLM. One question for the traditionalist. Would u decline the opportunity to marry a Michael Jackson or Obama's daughter or son? |
