Both are the same but the rigidities are totally different.

One who obtains knowledge through instruction goes through a smooth road which path is short and fast.. Very soft, flawless and spotless rigidity. But the danger is carelessness and fear because they cause a sharp and hurtful downfall. The sharp and hurtful scratches would be evidently displayed on and disfigure the spotless beauty.

Experience entails both knowledge and pains which leaves a significant mark in one's life for a rememberance. The road is very rough and long, but at the end it makes a survivor who threads on its path stronger and firm. They are sometimes called the brave, risk takers, pace setters, limit/barrier breakers, etc.. Very radical and rough rigidity, so strong like a cedar of Lebanon..

-Same applies to the Churches and ministers too but for one purpose..

IMO, the experience furniture is more sophisticated therefore the message is, knowledge is the foundation but experience makes you more sophisticated.

Like T.D Jake's would say, if you've experienced something enough, you don't need the spirit of prophecy to be able to tell how an event will play out.
When you read something your knowledge is on a basic level but with experience, you get to understand the thing/event completely.

Experience is the best teacher

that simply empirisim being better than rationalism..
