Hi guys. I'm trying to choose between TU Dortmund and university of Potsdam. Same programme: data science.

The programme offerings are very similar but the programme is relatively newer in Dortmund.

I will appreciate any info on the programmes, schools, and cities that can help guide my decision. Thanks.
Dortmund is definitely better considering the economy of the city and other opportunities. I'll choose Dortmund with everything else in the equation being equal.

TU Dortmund Data Science program is very good. It's more of practical and research.

Hello everyone, kindly advice me please.

I had AD before the pandemic which was canceled, I was told they'd reschedule me after the pandemic. The AD was for summer and now summer's passed and I have AL for winter.

The embassy hasn't said a thing about rescheduling, they keep saying they haven't started yet. My question is, do you think I should book again? Even though they specifically said not to rebook and I now fall under category B.
Should I keep waiting or go ahead and book again? Or they don't want to reschedule because summer has passed? Please advice.
Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by Nania: 6:51am On Sep 16, 2020
Believe it or not people are getting AD; most of them chose to be anonymous here. You need to go to the embassy to see for yourself that they are interviewing students ( scholarship holders).

What baffles me is why none of them are sharing their experience here. I saw 4 of them interviewed in Room 4 on 14/09/2020 and still nothing on this platform in respect to sharing their experience.

It's either they are just not on this platform or simply observers cos I know their are a whole lot of people who don't contribute nothing on this platform. They hold vital info just to themselves.

I have a question ...pls anyone can answer.
What if after one year studying for a masters in Belgium, I decide to forgo the Masters by applying for another program in Germany, will I have to apply for a German student visa from Belgium
I am asking cos I know according to their regulations, EU students are exempted from applying for German student visas..
I want to find out if this applies to me who has a Nigerian passport but already studying in Belgium??...

To be honest, I don't think anybody here can tell you the mind of the German Embassy in Nigeria. I also got admission and booked for Category B since April while my Enrollment supposed to be 1st October. Except any other MIRACLE happens, I've already reduced my expectations for Winter Semester 2020

Go to DAAD or UniAssist to get started, no one will explain all the nitty gritty for you, you have to do most of the research your self. Do not forget that Google is your friend.

I would have ignore your post as the guy above my post did. But I recall that I was once in your shoes. And every help counts.

So go to the above sites and settle on some school(s).
Then look up their requirements. Then drop your Applications accordingly.

Cheers. By the way it's not as rigorous as it seems. It is fun too.

In Belgium you have a Schengen Visa. So you are covered.. you don't need to get another Visa to move to Deutschland... but then if you are in Belgium you are supposed to know that you can go to Deutschland via train without Visa checks.... have you heard of European Union before??

Except you hold an European Union passport (something like your ECOWAS passport), you are not an "EU student".. You are an international student studying in an EU country.

So Yes, you need a student visa to study in Germany even if you have a student visa for Belgium.

A student in Belgium can enter Germany, do city registration and go to ausländerbehörde for his/her student resident permit. I know some students that came from Italy.

Besure of any information you're passing across.
