A former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Tom Ikimi, has told National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, that his cash-laden ‘bullion vans’ cannot buy the governorship election of Edo State which comes up on Saturday.

Ikimi said this at the mega rally of the Peoples Democratic Party in Benin, the Edo State capital, on Tuesday.

The former minister said this while reacting to a video in which Tinubu accused Obaseki of not being a democrat and asked the people of the state to reject him at the polls.

Responding to the video, however, Ikimi, who was once a chieftain of the APC, said Tinubu did not have a lot of money in 1999 when Tinubu first became governor of Lagos State.

He, therefore, asked Tinubu to reveal his source of income to Nigerians.

The former minister, while making reference to the bullion vans spotted on Tinubu’s premises during the run-up to the 2019 general elections, said the Edo State election would not be bought and warned Tinubu to steer clear of the state.

Ikimi said the video put out by Tinubu was evidence that the election was not between Governor Godwin Obaseki and Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu.

Rather, the election was between Obaseki on the one hand and Tinubu and ex-Governor, Adams Oshiomhole on the other hand.

Addressing a crowd, Ikimi said, “Bola Tinubu, tell me how much money you had in 1998/1999. Today, they say you are a billionaire. You carry money in trucks all over the place to disfigure democracy and you are preaching democracy.

“You carry money in bullion vans. Where are the bullion vans for Edo State? Have they arrived? Money cannot buy Edo State. Edo no be Lagos (sic).”

Ikimi said during the APC primary in Lagos State in 2018, then Governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode, was loved by many but Tinubu denied him the party ticket.

The former minister said despite entreaties from the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), and several party leaders and governors, Tinubu refused to listen.

“Let me tell you, what happened in 2019, Ambode was to contest. Everybody begged Bola Tinubu; President Buhari begged Bola Tinubu but he pushed the man away. Was that democracy?” he asked.

He called on the people of Edo State to vote for Obaseki on Saturday so that the people of Esan would produce the next governor after Obaseki may have completed his four years in 2024.

Obsession over Tinubu
He brought it upon himself by his hypocrisy, by him saying Obaseki desecrated democracy, when he forgot about his two bullion vans a day before the 2019 election that came to his residence in Bourdullion.

Is there any known laws against bullion vans servicing private citizens especially a day to Presidential Election which Tinubu was not contesting

.
In the corruption capital of the world, yes. And it is against the money laundering act, which prohibits moving more than N5 million naira physical cash for civilians.

And also an electoral crime inducing voters.

Money laundering act barely stated "Transaction" ,for easier assimilation for someone like you "Payment" beyond 5 million must be reported by banks to Anti Graft Agency , no law prohibits anybody from moving any amount of self owned physical cash

You can only induce voters at polling units in the day of Election as a candidate or party agent, Budillion drive Ikoyi Lagos is a private residence not a polling booth

Give use any evidence that the bullion vans contain 5 million and more

Ofcoarse former staff of Deloitte, PricewaterhouseCoopers , ExxonMobil and owner of Compass investment Chicago IL USA is well known

Tinubu is well known

That Agbele's 400k investment out of Tinubu's 12 million USD Citibank account was confiscated doesn't in anyway indict Chief Tinubu

This is my first time to comment on tinubu matter. He can carry bullion vans anytime anyday. whosoever state or allocation get lost can only probe him. Obaseki that doesnt use bullion van, where is his commissioner that was arrested and y? As at last checked, no law against bullion van entering any private residence. I just pity this obaseki of a guy, he should ask saraki, dino. Infact, His case go worse pass them. By 21/22, we all will btw ambode calming style and obaseki froggy eye style wch is better. Besides, ambode wasnt governor cos he didnt win primary not disqualified.
Tinubu bullion van is no one biz.
N.b: I don't like any of our politicians but dis man had paid his dues thats y he's able to use bullion van hence more jealous and envy from outside party.

WHAT DO I NO SEF?

And so , a public finance and investment company has many directors who ain't related in anyways but share holders

Volpi , Atiku and Tinubu are current owners of INTELS Logistics all members have directors representing them so should we blame actions of Atiku nominated director and board members on Italian Volpi?
