Two hours later, my Girlfriend's restaurant was raided by the police on the suspicion that he poisoned the guy. All the food she cooked that day were seized and taken away for testing. And she and her workers have been in jail since and all efforts to see her has been unsuccessful. They won't let me see her and they won't tell me the results of their investigations so far.

I just don't know what to do. The food they claimed was poisoned was served to others and no one complained of even stomach pains not to speak of dying. I even ate from the food earlier that morning.

The way the whole case is going is so confusing and murky and it seems the guys family are well of and they are looking for someone to blame, innocent or not.

So guys, please what do I do? My girlfriend is all alone, no notable family to speak of, who could come out to help. Her parents are late and she isn't close to her relatives. I'm all she's got.

Get a lawyer and try to get her bailed.
Insist on an autopsy through the lawyer if they refuse press charges against them for illegal detention etc.

This is serious. Police might not want to release her and her workers immediately, since it's a case involving death.

Ordinarily, the food will be tested, and an autopsy report will be obtained from a pathologist after a post mortem examination. The State usually procures the pathologist who conduct's the medical examination to ascertain C.O.D ( cause of death).

So there is really no case here, if they can't link the food to the deceased's death. Moreover, your babe operates a busy eatery, and since he is the only one who died, the possibility of proving the two cardinal element of a criminal offence is pulverized. The medical report will narrow down the rest.

However, police might want to apply the legal principle of last seen with, and they are well within their right to do so.

If you make too much noise as a lawyer, they will simply go to court and get an order to further detain them, pending the conclusion of their investigation.

What are your options?

Get a good lawyer who has necessary connections to push some buttons and find out what the police knows.

This will allow him know exactly how to go about securing their freedom. This is very important. It will help checkmate against them being unnecessarily charged to court. If they are unnecessarily charged to court, she could be in remand for a long time, giving that the offence is not bailable.

Bunch of useless policemen. They are suppose to carry out an autopsy on the corpse, then evaluate the drugs the guy took. The drug will be the lead to knowing what the guy was treating .

The police should also analyze the drugs he took and his health condition before going to that restaurant.

He carried himself there and was unaccompanied.

Never rest for a moment till your woman is out.

It is not a good experience when a woman (especially an innocent one) to be in Nigeria police custody.

Which state did the incident happen. What area and jurisdiction is the area. If it is Lagos state I could make some effort. But you have to be specific the police station handling the case and what ever.

Best you get a lawyer that can loud it for them.

Why are you panicking unnecessarily?if your story is true, your babe would be released as autopsy would be carried out on the guy to ascertain the cause of his death. The only problem is that Nigeria police being what they are will still detain your woman and make some money out of her before releasing her from detention.
