Stop Stop Stop.
You will NEED TO APPLY FOR STUDENT VISA AT THE German embassy in the country even if you have valid Permit . Don't ruin your movement with misinformation and it has to be valid for more than 3 months. Unless you will go back to your home country to Apply.

Email the embassy to ask . Ask they will enlighten you .

You don't say what you aren't sure of. One of the guys that relocated from Italy only came to Germany for holidays, and eventually fell in love with Germany and their system. Mind you, he never had admission before he came. I personally processed his admission guide his uncle on how to get him an SL.
He's currently rounding up with his studies.

Another guy from Italy just entered this year (February) and have successfully secured his resident permit.

As long as the student has a valid student resident permit in any of these schenge country.

Please if you're not well informed about a particular thing don't stress yourself over it.

In addition to my 10years experience in this trend, I can't give information on something I'm not so sure of.

There’s no point arguing who is right or wrong, it’s better for those who are not in DE to explore every options available to them, because traveling directly to German from Nigeria might not work for everyone.

If connecting through other EU countries is easier, it’s a better alternative than just waiting, hoping and protesting.

Pls I'd like to ask if there's anyone that used/using AoK insurance for their health insurance.

I'd like some clarity on the form.
Thanks in anticipation

Oga...state the city and don’t mislead people. I actually moved from Italy to Germany and you require a visa. I would like to hear the city or state that granted your friend a residence permit without applying for a visa at the German embassy in Rome.

So because you applied for a visa out of ignorance, that's your only evidence.
Very funny indeed.

There're things I don't waste my time on. And this is obviously one of them. So believe whatever you want.

Goodnight

Oga the guy is not misleading people, if you have a valid student permit from any schengen country you don't have to apply for visa again to come Germany. If you want to study there then they will ask you to provide means of sustaining with other necessary documents. It is easier to come Germany from other schengen country. So don't put all your eggs in one basket

Where do I start from? Let me still give back to the community that helped when I was also in a confused state.
If you are making the switch from a Schengen country to Germany. These are the requirements based on personal experience:
1. Admission letter
2. Proof of finance(health insurance inclusive)
3. Proof of valid resident permit in your current location( temporary permit accepted too)
4. Application form for visa(embassy)*
5. Valid international passport at least 6months
6. Passport photo
Now my 2cents: I will be a little bit petty, please bear with me
1. These same documents plus accommodation contract will be required at the immigration office at the time of your permanent residency application action in Germany whether you applied for visa like I said based on my ignorance as our 10years experience brother said.
2. If really there is another way to do it, what difference will it make when you still require the same documents? Now here is the difference: you will spend a few hundred euros and time to apply for visa and you won’t go through any interview (infact na only yes or no you go dey talk). The embassy will only tell you to bring the required documents as stated on the application form, if it is not complete your application will be pending until when you complete the application (not so personal experience also).
Verdict: so if I say apply for visa or our other brothers say don’t apply for visa...you should have these documents to apply for your residence permit which is the final aim at the moment.

Now my pettiness:

Them say I ignorant: I asked a question ( our people say who ask question no Dey lost)
The question was which city or state granted una people this switch without visa. I currently no require answer but I can tell you cities that did not accept it as at 2018 and it even became more strict now( not so personal experience too).

Cities that were contacted and didn’t accept except we applied for visa from our current country of residence permit.

1. Berlin (Berlin)
2. Cologne (NRW)
3. Bochum (NRW)
4. Darmstadt (Hessen). This one even threaten say if residence permit expire before we apply for visa say na straight to Naija back to go apply o
5. Stuttgart (Baden Württemberg)
6. Kiel ( Schleswig Holstein)
7. Frieberg ( my Ghanaian friend said it was possible but he no come give feedback las las)
Finally, bro @uchezdedon no vex say I first call you liar. You sef call me ignorant grin. bros @ato12 make I no see you for mainland o cheesy
