BetaTechnicians:

Thermocool HTF-200HAS you'll hardly notice the surge and even working power is low.

Thanks checked it, but seem not to be using an inverter compressor? However coming from a htf-219t will like something like that or bigger than that as 200has is smaller. That's why am considering a 319iw but I see there is a turbo inverter series as well 319ts.

Arrived yesterday from AE, but this thing doesn't get the job done. Not recognized.

Now I have specifically ordered for CC-USB-RS485-150U as it was the one used by Epever in a video tutorial, from AE.

I'd still buy locally to speed up the acquisition if a dealer here has it.

@futurenix, which make be that?

@house, observed on my failing batts, my ol rugged muspower inverter reduces charging current very quickly within 90mins to about 9amps, bbut if i turn off the inverter and allow the cc to charge it, the cc goes on full throttle with available sunlight, exceeding 30amps. battery charging voltage on both device is same . anybody has an explanation for why this happens?. cc is elcheapo makeskyblue rival, the name escapes me now. battery is fla
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by futurenix(m): 10:50am On Sep 19, 2020
95% of those inverters are just the same make and board. They are all from the same source but different companies will use their own casings and some similar casing but brand their names on it. Only difference I have noticed is those with mppt and the ones with PWM and slight feature variant on board functions which relates to price difference.

Guys, please who sells the two items in the attached picture?

The first one with light is a voltmeter. It has been permanently attached to the battery.

The second one is clamp also permanently attached to the inverter line.

I also need a Wattmeter to use in checking the actual power consumption of my devices.

If you have them, kindly signify so that i can reach out to you. Thanks

This might just be what you need

A simple setup like below would best suit your need;

100Ah battery,
500W inverter/charger
2.5mm wire to connect
And
A miniature 32A knife-edge to switch between Utility and the inverter.

Or a Solar home system comprising of DC lamps, DC fan and a boom box with Solar panel.

en0uwem:
I want to do a small setup for my shop/store.
I'll only be using led bulbs and maybe a single fan.

What type of inverter and battery should I buy for this? Thank you

That's quite strange to permanently attach a clamp meter... As to watt metre check on jumia. I do have a DC voltage indicator for 24v system but it depends on your location

You get a wattmetre designed for your need at arena oshodi....displays all you stated and more. Shouldn't be more than 5k (see attached of what I mean)

Thanks for the response and the link, bro. I will check out Jumia, like you advised.

Regarding the clamp, i got the pic from a Nairalander here who uses, but i cannot say exactly if it is permanently attached to his system. But is it out of place? Does it demand idle current or power from your system? The device seems very easy to use - just clip it over one of the inverter wires so that wire is in the middle of the clamp. Please advise, notwithstanding.

My system is a 12v system. Will a 24v one still work for it?

Wow! So there is actually a device that can measure all 3 vitals!?

I just checked on Youtube now and it does exists! Make i go find am.

Baba, what requirement would they need of my system to design one for me? My system will be a 12volt system (1 12v battery and a 12v inverter).

It will work but the normal clamp meter is not designed for that, most clamp meters well shutdown after 30sec to 1min to save the battery. If you want to measure current going in and out of your battery, you can try BMV or the clone variants which is cheaper.

It's 5v to 30v you can order it at AliExpress, but if you are in Ado-Ekiti I can give you the one I have. It's pretty cheap by the way.

Edit: I see you've gotten a much better response.

Thanks for the response. This one go over-serve gaaan...lol

How do you connect it to your system? I tried watching some videos on Youtube, but e hard me to understand. Is there a minimum requirement one's system should meet before being able to use this particular spec?

Meanwhile, what is the actual name of the device? Where did you get yours? How much is it? Can you drop us a link?

Sorry about my many questions. I want to be able to spot the vitals of my system closely, so that if there is any issue, we will know where to begin tracing from.

Thanks

This is cool, a good alternative to BMV and it's variants and it seem to have 300A shunt, if that is for real at that price, It's a good deal!

Click on the red letter on the post you quoted, it'll take you to the website of AliExpress where they sell it. Or go to Jumia and search for "DC Battery Monitor Meter 0-200V Volt"

Yes indeed are you using the 300A shunt version? and does it look and feel like it could carry that much current?

I actually bought the 100A version. It sure can handle that. My load never even goes to 30% of that capacity. That is why I never bothered with the higher shunt capacity. Bought in Alibaba though. Shared AE link as it is easier.
