What did you do before the restarting started? Do you have a memory card in your phone? Is your internal storage full?

That is not advisable becomes apps expand as you use them. Just be patient and sees if it allows you to get access to the phone via a safe mode and you free memory.

I am not sure if Xiaomi have a safe mode like Samsung does. But play a waiting game. Hold your power button for 15 seconds when it shows that mode for a forced restart.

Is your bootloader unlocked? Do you have custom recovery installed? If no is your answer, you will surely lose data in other to restore your phone through fastboot method.

The various generations of gorilla glass have different specialties I think. The earlier versions were notable rock hard, thick and don't crack easy, these latter versions are probably lighter.

These reinforced glasses offer no guarantees though, a friend of mine that bought the Galaxy S4 in its launch week dropped and cracked the screen first time, same week.

The ROM on this phone is fake. You can only install a genuine ROM using Fastboot ROM using Mi Flash Tool on PC.

Inukwa, lemme just leave the phone for him abeg.
Thanks

SD 660 is 14nm and power hungry. The battery life wasn't as good as Redmi 7 that had the same battery size talk more Redmi 8

Okay. Thanks a lot for clearing this up, chief

they are sacrificing scratch resistance for shatterproof... sand contains particles that scratches Corning gorilla glass 5 like knife cutting through butter, so if anyone intends to use his device naked please try not to let it fall to the ground.

I've learnt something today! Thanks

lolz, Corning didn't promise a shatter proof phone when dropped. If you watch drop tests on YouTube, the depth matters and it determines the impact on the phone. From waist length,i doubt if the phone will shatter if the impact isn't much. And it takes a couple of drops for a phone glass to shatter.Corning says their new gorilla glass 6 can withstand 15 drops.

I doubt there are different Corning gorilla glasses given to different phone manufacturers.Mi phones are strong, search on YouTube to watch teardown and durability tests.I follow some foreigner tech tubers and they take phones apart to see the quality of parts used. That's when you will realize Xiaomi is giving us premium phones for way less than we should be paying.

If a phone shatters when dropped, that means the glass has already gotten weak from previous falls or the fall was from a high depth and had much impact on the screen.A drop test I watched, the guy found it very hard shattering the redmi note 8 is below..

I get your point, the issue of the Rmn8 was about scratches occurring on minimal impact with light rough surface, but sajmark already explained why the CG5 is weak in terms of scratch ratings
