JBoy9:For anything banking related, those roles won't fly. You mentioned that you have an Oil and gas company. Check the occupation list to see the occupations you can nominate. Read some of my previous post here, there is a guide to check your possible occupation on the 3 lists |

What’s the current cutoff point? tunlex01: |
Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by tunlex01(m): 5:13am On Sep 19, 2020 |
Damian457:65 is the base minimum point, however your cut off is determined by your occupation requirements and English result. While an applicant with 65 (e.g. Welder) will get ITA, another applicant with 90 points (accountant or engineer) may not get ITA. 2 Likes |

Damian457:Some points are published for 189. Iscah.com posts some. For 190 and 491, that's not available cos state nomination is on hold. 1 Like |

Please how help me out. I have a bsc in banking and finance and have 6 years experience as a teller. But from all I see on the 189 and 190 visa class the closest job to that which I am doing is financial manager which to say the truth the job description is way different from a teller's job. What is my chance please. |
Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by tunlex01(m): 3:06am On Sep 20, 2020 |
emandman:Sadly, teller job is not related to a finance manager. There is no occupation on the list related to a teller role. Try student route to Australia or any other country. |

Experience4u: Thanks for responding. I have a friend who has a degree in computer science but he has been into industrial welding (oil and gas) for a long time. He has international certification like the IWA. We were former colleagues and he's gone on to work in other firms as well. I just want to assist him with this process as he seems under utilized here. Yes, he has payslips and other documents to prove employment |

planetuzor:Read the first few pages. Also, what's your full profile? I cannot advise based on the occupation only. Age English test result Educational qualifications with dates awarded Awarding University(ies) Course of study Job title(s) Years of experience If you are married, provide your spouse's details in the same order as above |
Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by tunlex01(m): 9:57am On Sep 21, 2020 |
yungmin: He cannot use computer science degree to assess as a Welder. He needs a qualification. IWA is just a certification not a qualification. 2 Likes |

Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by bellong: 11:16pm On Sep 21, 2020 |
planetuzor: Account manager is not same as an economist. You have to compare your job descriptions with closely related occupation on the list to nominate an occupation. Furthermore, your years of experience will be counted post qualification. VETASSES does not do experience in lieu of qualification. |
Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by bellong: 11:18pm On Sep 21, 2020 |
ImDStar: You can nominate a bricklayer or civil engineering technician/draftsperson. Bricklayer will give you better advantage though if you can tailor you job descriptions to it. |

Jesunitemi: Thanks for your feedback, please any idea why one year was deducted for you? I started lecturinging about 2 years after my MSc but don't have as many years experience as you do so I need as many years as possible. Also, have you made any progress so far post the positive assessment if you don't mind sharing. Finally, was it your school that sent the certificate or you sent it separately from the transcript. Thanks. |
Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by tunlex01(m): 10:27am On Sep 22, 2020 |
yungmin:trade test certificates degree in Metallurgical or mechanical engineering too. Also, not to dismiss the IWA, you can send an email to TRA to ask if it can be assessed. Does the IWA have syllabus and transcript? |
Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by tunlex01(m): 10:40am On Sep 22, 2020 |
planetuzor: Your Unilag degree will give 15 point however you can't have 6 years experience when your BSc is 2018. Vetassess only considers post qualification experience. Your English result too is good if you have 7 in EACH band. Visit www.vetassess.com.au to review the requirements to assess as an Economist if you are sure your job role fits that of an economist. For Vetassess assessment, you will need a reference letter which must detail your job descriptions. This is the major document that determines a positive assessmrnt with Vetassess and ensure your job descriptions fit. You can check on on Australia's job websites such as seek.com.au or au.indeed.com to review job roles of an Economist. Good luck. You can always ask your questions here. 1 Like |

Mamasunshine:Vetassess deducts 1 year most times, although in recent times, it has stopped deducting the compulsory 1 year. You can upload a copy of the certificate on the portal but transcript must be sent by the school. How many years of experience do you have? |
