Gval123:Lolz. You are just disturbing yourself. Nigeria's problem is deep, systemic and goes back a long time. Tell me, if you foresaw a better future for this country, would you be in the States now? |

NGpatriot:Yes, he is a public figure, he is a powerful politician of the SW extraction, hailed as the national leader of APC, he is even now reffered to as the father for all Democrats , but my point is this... Me and tinubu are not mate,.l am an ordinary Nigerian, tinubu helped to install Buhari who many of us think is non electable (this is his major Bleep up), when many seasoned Nigerians were available to choose from... Even tinubu would ve made a far more better president. He has reached his peak. Now we think he sacrificed the well being of Nigeria for his sole interest. Has Tinubu critized Buhari before? When southern Nigeria has bn shouting marginalization, did tinubu lend his voice... Then look at the use of thugs in elections, shamelessly even in Lagos State... I wish him well,... Then how can u order 2 bullion vans at the eve of elections? A leader of all Democrats? 1 Like |

The way Tinubu dominates social media it will be very difficult for any candidate to displace him in the politicosphere, godfather or not. Im tired of coming to politics section and everywhere is Tinubu. Na only this man be politician for Nigeria? And the man is not even elected into any office. No one is talking about key players on the ground in Edo. Ganduje, Uzodinma. Is Yorubaman on the hround in Edo? No. Why do we give him so much importance above others more important? We dont want godfather, end to godfatherism but at every opportunity we put him in headlines. How godfatherism want take extinguish? I tire for Nigerians and lack of sense. 1 Like |

A few days to the election, Mr Tinubu made and circulated a video wherein he called Mr Obaseki a dictator. He appealed to the Edo electorates to reject the governor at the polls. He also described himself as the leader of all democrats in the country, an appellation that angered some leading politicians and political observers in the country. The loaded hypocrisy in this statement could last a thousand lifetimes, and still there will be some hypocrisy left over. |

Goke7:English is indeed not for everybody. How does Buhari not being Overbearing translates to Buhari not being the problem? Buhari is not as controlling as Tinubu, even when he is the number 1 leader of APC. |

fjjc: He didn't contest in APC Sir, he wasn't allowed to participate and so, it can't used against him. There's no legal technicality available for APC to remove him now. Infact, it's APC that didn't have a candidate because their legal state chairman's faction didn't conduct a primary because of Oshiomhole oversabi. |

festacman:same people will still castigate him for not saying anything or tactical deliberate silence in order to protest Oshiomole's candidate. The fact is, people will always speak negative when the going gets tough. It's a natural human trait. For me, neither of these parties and the klepts they bring forth can make any difference. |

Nairaland doesn't need to remain toxic. We can make our points with strong emotions. In hindsight, you would agree with me that the same internal politics that bedeviled APC in Edo coupled with the current frustration against the ruling party was also what played out at the National level in 2015 against Jonathan. No doubt Tinubu played his part by taking advantage of the situation but that alone would not have worked had the north not fielded their own candidate (Buhari). This is the true lesson from Nigerian political history - no region comes to power without the north. It will remain this way until the southern regions come together. NGpatriot: |

[quote author=NGpatriot post=94169828]What history are the ignorant people talking about? Let me school you, this is the real history. Tinubu fought and defeated OBJ Tinubu fought and defeated GEJ Tinubu all by himself wrestled SW away from the PDP, the ruling party and the so called largest political party in Nigeria Tinubu ejected the PDP/Ruling party from power Tinubu remains the most powerful and influential politician and Nigerian alive and this is the reason why you can not stop writing, lamenting and crying over him everyday. PDP was a bystander, a mare tool, a means to an end for Obaseki, what happened in Edo was an outcome of APC internal disagreements which they eventually will settle, reconcile and move on. |
