Hello mamas in the house, please I can you suggest shampoo to treat cradle cap or something else that I can use for it. Thank you.

Oh so that's the name, my baby had it n I used small tooth brush to gently brush the white scales off after applying little oil.

Awww, I can imagine how exhausting it can be. First thing is to get some kind of help. Infact, you need all the help you can get.
Itemize your to-dos for the day and then a week.
- Cooking
-Your laundry
- Baby's laundry
- Tidying the home, etc.

For the cooking, you can get someone to help you go to the market and then cook some soups and stew to store in the freezer. You take as you need. That should last you like 2 weeks.
Infact, I know someone who asked a caterer to make a paint rubber of moi-moi. She simply stocked it in her freezer. She brings 2 pieces out the night before if the need arises. And it serves her well, with her pap, rice, just plain or however she wants it. My point is, you do not need to cook everything.

Your laundry could be done very early in the morning. Say 5am, bathe baby 6am, eat and back to bed to rest.

You could ask someone to help with the tidying of the home once a week.

Or better still, get a trusted live-in help for the period dh won't be around. You won't be lonely and still get some time to rest while baby is awake and you still need to sleep.

This is so timely, thanks so much ma'am,thank you for taking your time to respond,'ll make use of every point stated.

Please help a FTM! I had my baby yesterday around 12:07pm. I have not been able to breastfeed her. Dunno if it's because I am not lactating or baby's not latching on well. I have watched countless breastfeeding videos but no change yet. What can I do? Secondly, my baby is yet to open her eyes. When will she open her eyes? Thank you

Mama, don't stress yourself o... I also had my baby through CS a month + ago and my tummy is still huge.... Me I no send o. My healing comes first. It's true that breastfeeding help to shrink back the uterus but for this my second baby I am not feeling the mental cramp like pain when breastfeeding like my first. During my first, my tummy was back to normal by this time.

Dear teamie, don't panic. Continue putting your baby to breast and relax, your breastmilk will definitely flow. Mine didn't flow till the second day for my daughter. If you feel the baby may be hungry please feed with formular using spoon and cup and continue putting your baby to breast. Don't panic or stress about it cos stress will make your milk not to flow well. You need to relax. On baby opening eyes, I really have no idea. You have got this teamie

Like I said in my comment above, you need not be worried. Being worried alone is enough to affect your milk production. Even when no milk is coming out still put your baby to suck and ensure proper latching. You can watch youtube videos on that. Eventually it will flow. Relax. One love mama

Good to hear Big boy is doing good now.
Don't worry, the constipation will be a thing of the past also.
If that continue till today, try this sis.
Water or fruit juice.
Offer baby a small amount of water or a daily serving of 100 percent apple, juice in addition to usual feedings. These juices contain sorbitol, a sweetener that acts like a laxative.
Secondly, If baby is eating solid foods, try pureed beans, which contain more fiber.
Offer whole wheat, cereals, which contain more fiber than rice cereal.
It worked for us.
we hope everything works out for the best.

And here is a reply to your beautiful prayers ma,
Wa ʾantum fa-jazakumu-llahu khayran"

If you are on exclusive breastfeeding, baby may go as long as two weeks without poo.

Keep putting her to breast to stimulate breast milk. You can also take very watery hot pap plus liquid peak milk, take it as water when you need to drink water. Also stop worrying because it can affect your supply.

On baby not opening eyes, I want to believe she has by now. If she hasn't at all, please inform the doctor, she should open it even if its for a few seconds.

Is the pap watery? Let it be watery and take it with milk. Also, try pap made from Sorghum and Millet and keep putting baby to breast.

Good afternoon mommas, while I was bringing out cucumber from the nylon it was in, it fell from my hand and hit my baby(one side of his forehead). He was asleep when this happened. He didn't when move his body, he continued sleeping. I didn't touch him either.
And to think that I had imagined the cucumber falling on his head before the accident.
This happened on 15th Sept, he hasn't shown any abnormal sign. No bump, no bruise. He was 5 weeks when this happened.
Do I need to be worried? I will be seeing a Pediatrician on a different issue(catarrh) next Monday, 28th Sept. Should I relate it to him?

Any experience/suggestion?

Yes ma'am...Rotavirus is among the vaccines to be taken at 6wks and the 2nd dose at 10weeks.
You can check your immunization card to be sure your baby was given.

Hello Beautiful mamas. Long time no see/read (lol). How are you and the kids faring? Hope you are finding time to rest in your busy schedule.

My name is Nkem and I was a 2016 and 2019 (absentee) mama.

I had an extremely stressful pregnancy last year and developed some complications. I had a bad case of gestational diabetes and towards the later part of my pregnancy, my body stopped responding to the management of the condition. On top of that, I put on so much weight (I almost hit 100kg, from 72kg), that it started affecting my knees and my health generally. The pregnancy was so hard, that all I prayed for everyday, was for my baby to come out, so I could rest.

After I had my baby, I thought I was free at last. But I wasn’t. Recovery was haaaaaaard and a few weeks later, another wave of issues began.
I started having mad headaches and my feet were like they were pumped with water. I decided to check my blood pressure at home, and it was high. I thought my device was faulty, as I couldn’t believe the result I was seeing.
But the headaches kept getting worse, so I was taken to the hospital. At this point, my BP was about 170/100. My Ob/Gyn didn’t allow me go home that day. I had to be detained, admitted and treated.
Before I left the hospital, my doctor advised me to lose weight and change my lifestyle (eat healthy and exercise), so as to reduce the risk of me developing high bp and diabetes in the future (as I am already prone to them). And so my weight loss journey began.

I started to do a lot of research on what to do to lose weight, applied what I learned (Eating Healthy, Working Out, e.t.c), and I began to see results. Then I took it up a notch by taking certification courses, and got certified in Nutrition, Diet and Meal planning.
During my period of learning, I gathered a group of women who had the same fitness goals as I and wanted to lose weight too, and this is how my new found love, Healthy Yanga was born.

I'm here today, 9 months postpartum. I have dropped two dress sizes (still on my journey though), my blood pressure is back to normal (except for when I am really stressed out), my blood sugar is very normal, my cholesterol levels are normal, and I have helped other women lose weight and achieve their health and fitness goals along the way as well, and I'm not stopping just yet.

I want to help as many women as I can, so from time to time, I'll be creating programs that will help moms and women achieve their fitness goals.
For now, I have a new weight loss boot camp cohort that is starting on the 28th of September and will run till December 20, 2020.
During this bootcamp, I will be giving out meal and workout plans that will guide you on how to eat right and get fit with ease. My meal plans include all classes of food that are easily accessible and affordable.
You will also be added to a whatsapp accountability group, where you’ll be with other women who have similar goals. There’s no better way to draw inspiration and be motivated to keep working towards your goals.
At the end of the program, you will lose weight, be healthier and fit just in time to unlock your baby girl mode this Christmas/New Year.

The boot camp will run for 12 weeks and costs N10,000.
What’s more? There’s prizes for the 1st three winners at the end of the bootcamp.
1st - Money back
2nd - Half money back
3rd - Fitness watch (worth 4k)

Please, let me know if you would like more information about the program. I’ll be pleased to answer as many questions as you have.

I look forward to working with you, to help you achieve your fitness goals.

Subsequently, I’ll be sharing some tips that worked for me and helped me lose weight, both here and on my own NL thread : https://www.nairaland.com/6140800/lose-weight-fit-healthy-yanga .
Here’s the first one below.

Cheers mama kiss

Congrats mama.
I had this issue with my kids, but I didn't get help till after I had my second baby (in fact, by the time it was discovered, it was too late). I was asked to use a breast pump. This does two things.
1. It will help to extract the milk, so that you feel better.
2. It will help pull out your nipples.

I was asked to do this every three hours for about 20-40mins.
You also need to keep putting baby to breast as well.

Hope this helps kiss

Congratulations ma'am. I was in your shoes few months ago and I know how it can be. Breastfeeding with flat nipples is not easy at all. It frustrated the hell out of me when I first gave birth. I bought lots of products ranging from nipple shield to nipple puller to breast pump all to no avail. Little did I know that all what I needed was just a working breast pump. The brand I was using initially wasn't working. I was advised to get Chicco manual pump and it changed my story in two days. You can try it out and make sure you pump regularly. Before you put baby to the breast, pump for like 5-10minutes and let your baby lach on the nipple. He will pull it out in no time. Wish you luck!
